The first day of classes was interesting. Yujin woke up, feeling like she had something to prove. She refused to be in the shadow of her older brother anymore. As much as she loved him, she was going to prove him wrong. Of course, it would be easy for him to say their parents were wrong. Because in the entire Wizarding world's eyes, Lucas Mae was the golden boy of Hogwarts.
"How'd you sleep?" Yeji asked as Yujin sat down for breakfast. She had arrived a little late after sending an owl to their parents. Yujin noticed her brother talking to some girl from Ravenclaw, rather than sitting at their own table.
"Pretty well. But why isn't Lucas sitting here?" Yujin asked while Hyunjin put some pancakes on her plate.
Yeji shrugged, "He's always been like that when we came. Talking to mudbloods and halfbloods alike," She said quietly as to make sure no one outside their table heard.
However, someone at their table heard. Heeseung frowned hearing Yujin let out a small snort of amusement. He always heard about pureblood families and their love for certain insults. But he never heard someone say it out loud, let alone casually. He wondered how Yujin could ever associate with people like them.
"Yujin, could you pass me the pumpkin juice?" Heeseung asked, testing the waters. He nodded to the pitcher next to her.
Yujin though, merely just glanced at Heeseung before giving him a small scoff, "Get it yourself, why don't you?" She grumbled, taking a bite of her eggs. Yujin still vividly remembered the boy across from her. How rude he was on the train. And the sad look on his face when he was put in Slytherin. Just another reason for her not to talk to him.
Heeseung blinked, not expecting the rude attitude. His polite smile faded as the two on either side of Yujin, which he learned to be Yeji and Hyunjin Hwang, her cousins, didn't bother hiding their laughs. He rolled his eyes and just rose from his seat, reaching over to grab the pitcher. Yujin and Heeseung locked eyes for a moment.
And within that moment, they decided that the other was worth just as much as a bronze knut.

That morning, as first years, they were required to complete one year of flying classes. Taught by Madam Hooch, the flying professor and often quidditch referee. Turns out, they'd also be having this class with the first-year Gryffindor students.
It was easy to spot their presence in bright scarlet and gold. Yujin found this class particularly loud, at the front were two redhead boys that Yujin knew as the Weasleys. Another pair from another blood-traitor family.
"Rather annoying those ones, aren't they?" Graham Montague whispered to Yujin. Yujin only nodded when someone left their group of Slytherins. She frowned seeing Heeseung approach the Gryffindor kids who greeted him with open arms.
"Who put him in Slytherin?" Cassedy Warrington muttered, looking at Heeseung in distaste. His green and silver robes stood out from the red and gold.
Yujin hummed, "Sorting Hat had an odd choice, that's for sure," She said quietly, turning her attention to Madam Hooch who had come back from finishing setting up the brooms.
"Right, as of right now, as some of the school brooms are being used by the Ravenclaw Quidditch team's tryouts," Madam Hooch looked towards the Quidditch field, which intrigued everyone. If you squinted, you could see a dozen or so small dots, zooming through the sky. "You lot will have to pair up today, so quickly, get into pairs."
The split seemed unanimous. The Sltyherins partnered with each other while the Gryffindors did the same. Yujin partnered up with Montague, who showed great interest in showing off his skills. Something about having a mock quidditch field in the backyard, set up by his dad.
