Merlyn died at 500 years of age. 

She killed herself after her husband never came back from Avalon, having lost hope over time. 

Then she woke up as Daenerys Targaryen years later, the mother of dragons, and was later killed after she finally won the war she spent so long fighting. 

Next she was born 500 years later as Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland, and was beheaded after having her sick in the head husband put to death for nearly killing their son, and trying to take her crown. 

And finally, 500 years later, she was born as Merlyn Gilmore. 

A nobody from a small town, a twin to Rory Gilmore and daughter of Loralei Gilmore. 

She was mostly normal, with strange dreams at night being the only thing odd about her. 

But after she met a boy with blonde hair, and she remembered who she was, as he remembered himself as well, they were pulled into a room along with those of their present life, and Merlyn's past lives. 

They were to watch videos of her past, and then watch her life in full now. Seeing that she wasn't "mad", she wasn't a "tyrant" she wasn't anything but a girl who just wanted love. Love that she finally got this life. They were going to watch as she lived a normal life, and was truly happy for once in her existence.
