Twenty minutes later, Morgan is backstage, waiting for her cue as the announcer speaks to the press. She considers what Barton said: "Your dad would be proud of you."

She thinks, Maybe. I'm not a tech genius, and I'm not organized like Mom. I hope I can do this.

The announcer finishes their spiel. "And now...a few words from Stark Industries' new CEO, Morgan Stark!"

The news is broadcasting the press release live, with the headline "New Stark Ind. CEO Talks Bots". Morgan is onstage, next to some Stark Industries robots. She finishes her speech with a final declaration.

"These bots will be the future! Thank you all, and happy Thanksgiving."

The audience applauds as Morgan goes backstage.

Morgan's hairstylist calls out to her as she passes. "Nice job, Ms. Stark!"

Morgan thanks her, and goes to sit at her makeup table. The lights around the mirror are bright in the backstage gloom. Sighing, she pulls the hair clip out of her hair, and her phone out of her pocket.

She's getting up to go when a young man interrupts.

"Ms. Stark?" he asks, fidgeting.

"Yes?" she replies, dragging her attention away from the latest company crisis.

He looks at the floor when he says, "I need to tell you something."

Morgan blinks, uncomprehending. "And you are?"

"Nick Lauks," he responds. "I'm lead programmer for the AI department."

"Nice to meet you." Morgan turns away from the young man and heads towards the elevator on the other side of the room. Her bodyguard presses the call button. "Can it wait until tomorrow? It's late."

"Oh!" He looks genuinely surprised. Programmers. "Uh - no, it can't wait. It's kind of an emergency."

"Kind of?" The elevator doors open, and her bodyguard walks in. Morgan follows her, and so does the programmer. He presses a button on the panel. The bodyguard goes into a grab-ready position, hands open, her eyes flicking between him and Morgan. Trying to decide if there is a threat. Waiting for a signal from Morgan, who asks, "Where are we going?"

"To the server room," declares Nick Lauks.

Her bodyguard returns to a hands-ready position, holding her lapels.
