Once Lara and Elsi got to the main town, they headed straight for the registration building that wasn't too far from the square. The town is beautiful, tress lining each side of the street, roads pack neatly with rocks flatten and smooth. Buildings made from the earth and stone  as wonderful as she was told. Elsi ties the horses to a post at the entrance of the registration building,  while Lara climbs down  from the cart, holding the child safely. Looking at the surroundings, people from all walks of life were there . Skins of all shades , eyes with colors she has only read about in books. She has somewhat gotten used to the sight.

People who didn't judge her, people that , to her, sometimes are out of dreams . They would say hi to her as they passed. They would call out her name and tell her about their day.

They were people that were not her family....

While Lara looked around holding her newborn child. Elsi touched her on her arm. Telling her with her eyes that it was time to go inside.

Lara turned and walked up the stairs, with a smile on her face

"I know what I am going to name her." She stated without looking at Elsi, who, too, wore a smile.

Upon entry, they met a young lady sitting at a tiny wooden desk.

"Hello, Welcome to the registry office." She stated. " Congratulations on your wife's newborn. I am assuming you are here to provide the baby with a  name and get their papers in? " The young lady asked, smiling brightly.

Elsi, not expecting to be considered a wife or the fact that the child might be hers, blushed furiously, eyes wide and cheeks rosy .

Lara, who was standing by, blushed just as hard. Staring at Elsi, never has she seen her like this.

The way Elsi looked at everything in the room but her, the way she nodded and handed the fee to the young lady at the desk after being told the process for the registration . How she took her hand that was free and guided her to the room to see the doctor .

Lara stared at her...

The way Elsi listened intently, still blushing, as the baby was being examined. How she got crimson when Lara herself as a new mother, that just gave birth, was being examined.

Lara watched it all...

After the doctor examined mother and baby. They were brought to a smaller room to complete the registration.

"The baby is very healthy, healthier than most I have seen in a while, and so is Mama. Mrs Snow, your wife is taking very good care of you." The doctor stated while smiling without a care in the world.

Snow being Elsi's  given last name.

Elsi was crimson before , now, the actual steam could be seen rising off her head.

Lara smiled prettily and said her thanks. The dos and don'ts were discussed having a newborn and taking care of them.

"To the most important part , so what will you be naming your little bundle Mrs and Mrs snow?"

Elsi looked at Lara.

Lara smiled and said, "Ravi, which means the sun. That is what I would like to name our child. My wife was the sunshine that came in a time when I was surrounded by darkness. It was a time when it was cold and barren. Her warmth brought hope and life back into my eyes, and for that , I wish to name our child Ravi. After my wife's kindness."

Lara whispered the last part, staring at Elsi, who was blushing furiously looking right back at her.

"I agree with that name as well," Elsi stated. Voice rusty from the lack of use.

The shock that Lara received when she praised her for doing a good job giving birth was even more that she agreed to the name she chose for the baby and decided to say it out loud, too.

After the naming. They both signed the papers for registering baby Ravi and left the registration office.

All the items for baby Ravi were prepared, from feed, to nappies, clothes and everything they thought and read that a new born child would need, were bought so there was no need to stay in town.

However, on the way back. Lara sat upfront with Elsi holding the baby.

"There is something I want to say to you." Elsi said out of the blue.  "I noticed that you haven't said anything, so I figured you are not judgmental.". With eyes forward, Elsi continued.

"The child has both sexual organs..."

 "I am the same...."

Elsi said the last part with a shaky voice.

Lara did not answer immediately. She took a deep breath and looked at the sky.

"I knew." Lara stated a bit of humor in her voice.

"Well suspected." She stated a smile at the corner of her lips

" I notice sometimes the way you would look at me. Or late at night, I was being poked, and a finger wasn't that large. I have never seen you go to the bathroom and when Ravi was born you said nothing. You were not disgusted nor angry. I was relieved to know that Ravi was going to be safe. I don't care, Elsi." Lara finished.

Elsi was staring at Lara, gently smiling, watching her look at baby Ravi saying sweet nothings.

"I will ensure you and Ravi have a wonderful life. No, I want us to have a wonderful life. Are you willing to be my wife for real Lara?" Elsi stated this time, staring at a shocked Lara while navigating the cart.

Lara, mouth a gape, looked at Lara.

After Lara came over the shock of Elsi  talking in general and now asking her to be her wife, she smiled prettily and, with teary eyes  said yes.

"Yes, I am willing to become your wife for real. I am willing to be a family. " Lara stated, sniffing, leaning on Elsi's shoulder .

"Good, we will make the arrangements later, for now, the rest of the day is about our daughter. " Elsi stated with a beautiful smile on her face.

"Yes, the rest of the day is about our daughter Ravi, our sun." Elsi whispered the last part, laying her head upon Lara's . Staring at their daughter.

With that, Elsi and Lara continued the journey home, passing through the beautiful farmlands with their sun in their arms...
