Giant Woman

Amara began walking through town making her way to the gem temple. She had gotten a small text from garnet mentioning that she should come over as there was a mission she would be able to join as it shouldn't be too dangerous.

So of course Amara agreed to join, and as she approached the temple she could hear amethyst giggle loudly and saw her, Pearl atop a lifeguard chair, and Steven. So she began to walk towards them.

As she approached she could begin to hear what they wear talking about more clearly, quietly moving closer.

"I certainly hope that not the attitude you have during battle." Pearl said, arms crossed.

Amethyst stood up and looked soaken wet. "Ugh you're no fun anymore. This is why we never form Opal."

"We don't form Opal because you're difficult and a mess."

Slowly Amara came to a halt a couple feet away from the group as Pearl began to poke Amethyst in the face.

"We don't form Opal because you're uptight and-"

"Guys!" Steven says dropping down between them from the lifeguard stand.

"What is Opal?!?"

"Oh it's the two of us," Amethyst says, "mashed together"

Pearl huffs, "Is water just hydrogen and oxygen mashed together?"

Amethyst and Steven stare at her with blank faces.

"Analogy wasted."

Amara decides to say something because she has probably already listened to too much, "I understood it, so not wasted I guess."

"OH Amara! When did you get here?"
Pearl says, seeming happy to see her.

"She's been here for the past five minutes." Steven says with an innocent smile on his face.

"Oh whatever anyways Amara, this is perfect timing you could learn from this too."

"Um, learn about what?"

"Fusion! Okay look here." Pearl says as she kneels to the ground beginning to form shapes with the sand on the ground.

"When we synchronize our forms we combine into a powerful fusion gem named Opal."

Amara watched as the two piles of sand turned into smaller versions of Pearl and amethyst dancing together and turning into one bigger gem.

"Except I don't dance like that." Amethyst butts it smashing the beautiful sand with her foot.

Pearl looks up, "Amethyst!"

"Wow!!!" Steven says, "Cool! But tell me more about Opal!"

"Well Steven," amethyst starts, "She's an ultra powerful stone-cold Betty. That parts me. And she's like kinda tall," she says leaning in towards Steven, "That parts Pearl."

Amara listens quietly wondering about fusion and what it would be like. She partially spaces out as Pearl explains that it's only for emergencies until a bright light comes from the temple bringing her back to reality.

"Garnets back!" Steven yells immediately running towards the temple.

Amara follows a bit behind the others making her way into the temple.

"We need to go and retrieve the heaven and earth beetles." Garnet says.

Pearl and Amethyst continue their bickering as Garnet says she is the only one able to get the earth beetle and the other four will go to get the heaven beetle together.
