Anastasia is a young sixteen year old girl from England. she moved to mystic falls when she was nine due to her father having a better job opportunity in America. The Valiava family originally came from Russia and that's where Anastasias parents are from, though her and her brother Alexander are both British.
when Annie first moved to America she founded a passion for cheer as she was already flexible, she went cheer practice after cheer practice ever since she was ten and was aloud to try out. She puts her all into the things she loves leading her to become a perfectionist.
she could not fail, she drives herself to succeed in not just cheer but academics, life even. She constantly craves the need to be flawless and if she's not she feels nothing but disappointment and loss.
Anastasia almost instantly clicked with Caroline when she moved to America therefore leading to them both being best friends. They do almost everything together. At the age of eleven they both vowed to each other that when they grow up they will have a joint wedding, Caroline would have pink flowers and Annie purple, they will both have big houses next door to one another and they would raise their children to be best friends. Just like them.
As they grew older they still were stuck hip to hip. Anastasia won miss mystic falls and even though Caroline desired that spotlight she was still ecstatic for Annie because that's how best friends are. Of course they were both also best friends with bonnie and Elena the four of them were like a little tight nit group together.
when the Salvatore's struck town nothing changed, well until the unleash of vampires, werewolves and witches. turns out bonnie was a witch and Tyler was a werewolf. the Salvatore's were vampires and the supernatural did indeed exist.
surprisingly Damon and Anastasia got on fairly well, when they weren't at each others throats throwing sarcastic comments back and forth that is. Annie and Stefan always got on. The boys became like brothers to her and she became a sister to them. When the time would come around they would go to war like brothers.
When Katherine came to mystic falls she took quite a liking to Anastasia. Katherine had stated she was intrigued by the valiava girl. she said she was different. not like a normal human, she had something destined for her that could either break or make her.
That same day Anastasia had told her older brother and Damon what the doppelganger had said they both gave her the same exact blunt reply.
"that's complete bullshit."
That's were we were left off now its the night of the masquerade, and time to kill Katherine.

A/N - lots of people don't read the prologue and I don't know why, I feel it puts a lot of background to the story and it also gives you a hit of when you are getting into.
