Giovanni's POV

A pain-filled scream echoes around the room. My men were getting information out of a bumbling idiot that decided to try and infiltrate my gang.

"Shut him up." I order Isaac, my second in command.

"Yes, Boss." He grins. He takes the pliers and grips the bastard's tongue. "You wanna shut up, or shall I take your tongue?"

The idiot whimpers. "Please..." His tears streak down his cheeks. "Please. Mercy."

"Mercy is not for infiltrating bastards." I growl. "Why the ever-loving FUCK should I have mercy on you?"

"I can give you information." He whispers.

"Oh, can you?" I raise an eyebrow. "What about what you've told The Fangs about us?"

"I haven't. I swear, I haven't." He blubbers. "I haven't."

"Oh? And why's that?" I ask cooly.

"I..." He pauses. "I met someone in your gang."

"Who?" I demand.

"Jake." He sighs. "Jake Gardilla."

"Bring me Jake. Now." I order Issac.

He gets on his phone and calls Jake to the interrogation room.

"You wanted to see me, Boss?" Jake asks as he enters the room.

"You know this pathetic excuse of a man?" I ask him.

"Yes, Boss." He answers.

"Who is he?" I demand.

He sighs shortly. "His name is Xavier Fontaine, and he was part of The Fangs. He wants to defect."

"Why should I ever trust a defector?" I demand.

"That's up to you, Boss." He answers smartly.

"Do you like this man? Should I save him from his fate?" I ask, watching his face carefully.

Jake's face twitches minutely. "Again, up to you Boss."

"Do you have a relationship with this man?" I ask, again watching his face.

His eyes dart to Xavier, then back to me. "I... I do like him. But like I said, Boss. The decision to save him or to kill him is up to you. That's not my place, and I wouldn't dare to even pretend otherwise. I'm loyal to you and The Serpent's Venom. On my life."

"Good answer." I nod to him. "You may leave now."

"Yes, Boss." He nods and exits the room.

"Now. Tell me everything you can about what you've learned here, what you were going to tell The Fangs before you met Jake, and everything you can about them. And maybe, I'll let you live." I sneer at the sniveling man tied to the chair in front of me.

In the end, Xavier gave nothing useful. He hadn't discovered anything about our gang, and he was so low-tier in The Fangs, he knew nothing.

"Useless." I grumble, and shoot him point-blank in the middle of his forehead. "Clean this up." I order as I leave the room.

I make my way to my suite and take a shower. I dress in my suit and make my way to the town car waiting for me outside. "To the office, Liam." I instruct the driver.

"Yes, Mr. Bianchi." He responds respectfully, and starts driving.

It's a short trip that I spend on my phone, checking my emails. We arrive and I grab my briefcase and exit the car. "Be back at five sharp, Liam."
