𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 it was one of those things everyone said: "you can't just be friends with a boy without catching feelings", emma always despised being told things like that. but why? because in her case, it seemed true. as much as she tried to push down her feelings, she knew it was true. she was in love with her best friend, javon walton.
growing up side by side, emma was the closest to the walton twins, they even learned how to walk together. it would be pretty fair to say that javon and jaden were like family to her.
she wishes it had stayed that way, she wishes she could still see him just as family, but she can't deny it. she's had the same dumb crush on her best friend since she's 13 and hasn't been able to forget about it. at first, she thought it'd be temporary, that he just looked a little too good one day and the attraction towards him would go away inmediately. but as the days, months, years went by, she fell more and more in love with him.
what emma didn't know, was that javon was struggling with the same confusing feelings. he'd catch his breath every time they hugged, everytime she'd fall asleep on his shoulder, everytime she'd smile.
but their friendship felt like walking a tightrope between being family and something more, something new, something scary. and sadly, neither of them knew how to deal with crossing the line.
