Jimin's eyes fluttered open, grogginess clouding his mind. He lay in an unfamiliar room, surrounded by sleek, modern furniture. The digital wall clock caught his attention: 11:55 PM.
Disoriented, Jimin sat up, rubbing his temples. A gentle movement beside him made him turn.
Jungkook lay sleeping, his face peaceful, his chest rising and falling with each breath. Jimin's heart skipped a beat as their eyes met – or rather, Jungkook's closed eyes met Jimin's startled gaze.
"J-Jungkook?" Jimin whispered, uncertainty lacing his voice.
Jungkook stirred, his eyes opening lazily. "Hey," he said, his voice husky from sleep.
Jimin's eyes widened. "Where...where am I?"
Jungkook's gaze locked onto Jimin's, "You're in my room."
Jimin's mind raced. "How did I...?"
Jungkook's expression softened. "You fell asleep at the restaurant. I brought you here."
Jimin's cheeks flushed, remembering snippets of the evening. "I-I'm sorry."
Jungkook's lips curved into a gentle smile. "No need to apologize."
The room fell silent, the only sound the quiet hum of the AC. Jimin's gaze drifted back to Jungkook, their faces inches apart.
Jungkook's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "You okay?"
Jimin nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah."
Their eyes held, the air thickening with an unspoken connection.
Jimin threw off the blanket, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. "I should go."
Jungkook's hand instinctively reached out, grasping Jimin's wrist. "Where are you going at this hour?"
Jimin hesitated, his eyes darting to Jungkook's grip on his wrist. "I...I don't want to disturb you."
Jungkook's gaze intensified. "You're not disturbing me."
Before Jimin could respond, Jungkook's voice took on a firmer tone. "You're not going anywhere, Jimin."
Jimin's eyes widened. "But—"
Jungkook's grip tightened. "You'll stay here. In my room."
Jimin's lips parted to protest, but Jungkook's words cut him off.
"Tonight, you sleep here. With me."
The room fell silent, the tension palpable. Jimin's heart raced as he met Jungkook's resolute gaze.
"Why?" Jimin asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jungkook's expression softened, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Because I want you safe. And close."
Jimin's cheeks flushed, his pulse quickening. No one had ever looked at him like that before.
"Okay," Jimin whispered, his consent barely audible.
Jungkook's grip on his wrist relaxed, his fingers tracing gentle patterns on Jimin's skin. "Good."
The silence that followed was filled with unspoken understanding, as Jimin settled back into the bed, Jungkook's gaze never leaving his face.
Jimin lay down, his back to Jungkook. Jungkook sensed Jimin's unease, knowing he was intimidated. To put Jimin at ease, Jungkook maintained a respectful distance, his eyes fixed on Jimin's profile.
"Goodnight, Jimin," Jungkook said softly.
Jimin nodded, his voice barely audible. "Goodnight."
As Jungkook settled into his own pillow, Jimin closed his eyes, attempting to sleep. However, his stomach growled, reminding him he hadn't eaten dinner.
