Drake's P.O.V
Springtrap...
He attacked Raiden... He almost killed him... Why...?
"Drake!"
I gasp, startled, snapped out of my daze when I feel Mike's hand on my shoulder. He looks into my eyes with a concern I'm all too familiar with, his eyes reflecting a purple glint.
"You've been staring into space for hours. Are you okay...?"
It's only then that I notice just how fast my heart is beating. My breathing starts to slow at his touch. I take a deep breath.
"Y-yeah, I'm... I-I'm fine, just fine." I stammer. Mike shoots me an unamused stare.
"Drake, it's 7AM."
"I beg your fucking pardon?" My eyes widen. "When did I wake up again?"
'Around 3AM.'
Gabriel's spiritual form appears next to me, startling me once again. I shoot him a glare.
"God fucking damnit, Gabe! You wanna give me another heart attack!?" I growl. Gabe floats back a bit, seemingly startled.
'Sorry... Thought a good scare would help you loosen up.'
I let out an exhausted, frustrated sigh, running my hand through my hair.
"No, it's okay." I force a small smile. "I'm just..."
"Spiralling?" Mike finishes. I nod sheepishly.
"Watching that security footage... Realizing what was going on... It's a lot to wrap my head around- a lot to process."
"After what happened six years ago, that makes sense." Mike chuckles, holding me close with his arm around my shoulder and planting a soft kiss on my forehead.
"Want me to make breakfast?" Mike asks. I smile a content smile.
"That would be great. Thanks."
Gabriel's eyes light up in excitement.
'Oh! Can you make pancakes?'
"Gabe, you're a ghost. You can't eat." I chuckle.
'I know, but it's been decades since I've even seen pancakes. I just wanna see what they look like after all this time.'
Mike and I turn to each other, laughing a soft laugh to each other at the young spirit's childish enthusiasm.

I flop back onto the couch, letting out a tired, yet content breath as I turned the TV on. Mike soon joins me, resting his head on my shoulder as I flip through channels.
"What do you wanna watch?" I ask him.
"I dunno." He shrugs. "There normally isn't anything good on at this time."
'I wanna watch some cartoons.'
"I'm not sure there's any cartoons on at this time, Jer-"
'Oh, me too!'
'And me!'
"Guys, I'm not in the mood for cartoons."
The spirits gasped, all looking at me with disbelief.
'Why not?'
"Yeah, Drake, why not?" Mike asks, pouting slightly. I raise my eyebrow at him.
"Because we're in our twenties, Mike."
'Yøu doñ't have tó bė a kīd to enjøy cârtoöns.'
"I know. I'm just not in the mood." I shrug, flipping through channels again. "Plus, all the ones that are on right now are pretty shitty anyway. I doubt any you would enjoy them-"
A loud buzzing sound cuts me off. I turn the kitchen table to find my phone vibrating.
"Weird time for someone to wanna call." I mutter, setting the remote down on the couch before going over to answer. And upon seeing who was calling, my confusion only grew.
It was Shawn.
'What could he want right now?' I think to myself. I answer and hold the phone to my ear.
"Hey, Shawn. What's up?"
~Hey, Drake. Haven't talked since Ray got assaulted, how're you an' Mike doin'?
"Oh, we're fine, for the most part at least."
~That's good.
I hear a sigh of relief from Shawn from the other end of the line. Is he genuinely worried for me and Mike?
~Anywho, the manager wants us all back at the attraction t'night for a shift.
"You're shitting me." I reply in shock. "After what happened to Raiden? Why the fuck would they-"
~I dunno? Said somethin' about the security bein' tampered with and needin' a new one installed, or some shit like that.
"Security being tampered with...?"
'Oh fuck...' I think to myself. '...the tablet.'
~Yeah. It's total horseshit, really. And with a madman runnin' around in there nearly killing our co-worker, I can't imagine why the boss thought it would be a good idea to send us back there.
"Yeah..."
I trail off, the footage from the tablet replaying in my mind. Springtrap's laugh echoes in my mind for a bit. The thought of him nearly killing someone still makes me sick to my stomach, and this gives me the opportunity to get some answers out of him.
In fact, this might be a blessing in disguise.
"Okay." I sigh. "I'll tell Mike and we'll meet up at the attraction later tonight."
~Cool. See ya then.
With that, I hang up, set the phone down on the table again and turn to Mike and the spirits. They all quickly turn away, pretending like they didn't just evesdrop on my conversation with Shawn. I sigh an amused sigh before walking to my bedroom.
"I'm going to bed." I announce.
"What?" I hear Mike ask. "It's 4PM, why would you go to bed at this time?"
"Because the manager called." I say, turning to face him. His expression turns into one of confusion, then disbelief.
"You're kidding..."
"Nope." I shake my head. My eye glows faintly as I cross my arms. "Tonight, we're going back to work."
A/N
I'm back! Admittedly a little earlier than I expected... I wanted to upload this on Halloween but with finals starting the literal day before and some drawing projects that I had to finish, it safe to say I was a little preoccupied. Still, I'm glad I finally got this chapter out, and I hope you all enjoyed reading. I might upload later this month and try to stick to a monthly, or even bi-monthly upload schedule, but don't count on it. With all the shit going on in my life right now, it's probably gonna be a lot earlier said than done.😅
Anyway, I'll see you all in the next one.
