Chapter 9.2

Author Pov:

The big hand reached 14:30, it was getting more and more critical...
Sumire's breath was getting shorter and shorter, her body was falling deeper and deeper into panic...
She saw her life flash before her eyes...

But the group found nothing, they searched in panic. They didn't search hard enough...
But then Kawaki found something.

"There's something here," shouted Kawaki.

Kawaki Pov:

I couldn't wait for the others, I pushed away as much earth as I could. I dug deeper and deeper, and together we uncovered a coffin.
Mitsuki gave me the crowbar again and I used all my strength to break open the coffin.
We lifted the lid and threw it away.

"Sumire!" I shouted and lifted her out of the coffin. Her whole body was disfigured... she was covered in blood...
She was so cold.

,, K-kawaki..... there ..... are.... you .... ..... finally..." she said very weakly.

"N-no, don't talk... you're much too weak," I said and pressed her cold body against mine.
I felt her heartbeat slow down and become more and more irregular... her breathing joined in...

"No... sumire stay with me..." I whispered and put my jacket around her.

Sumire reached out her hand for mine... her hand was trembling...she was at the end of her strength...
I took her hand in mine and squeezed it gently...

"Please... stay with me... with us...", I said... my eyes formed tears that fell on Sumire...
She put her other hand on my cheek and wiped away my tears...

"Sumire... Don't go..." Sarada said...

"Stay with us... Sumi...", said Mitsuki. He was crying too...like all of us.

"Take care... Take care of yourselves..." whispered Sumire, she was so weak.

"We have to help her...!" I shouted.

"Kawaki... we won't get to the hospital in time... She's too weak...", Kagura said.

My heart shattered into a thousand pieces at these words... I had to let my great love go... but I didn't want to...
Sumire looked at me... her eyes became weaker and weaker until her eyes closed completely...

,, No wake up...! Sumire do you hear me... you have to be strong... stay with me...", I screamed.

Sumire didn't answer... She no longer moved... Her whole body became weak... it became lifeless...
Her one hand slipped from my cheek... while the other slipped from my hand...they fell lifeless to the floor...
Her breathing stopped and her heartbeat stopped....
She's gone....

"Sumire!!!" I screamed and pressed her lifeless body to mine.

The others had turned away and were crying... I heard them crying and sobbing....

"I love you," I said and kissed her lips one last time....

"I will miss you..."

Author Pov:

Sumire had not survived the agony... She had lost her life...
Kawaki had to watch his girlfriend die in his arms...

His scream echoed throughout the island, his cry drenched in grief, pain and sorrow...
Kawaki didn't want to believe that Sumire was gone forever...
He would never see her again...

That same day, the four of them left Kirigakure... they were picked up by Sasuke, Naruto and Shikamaru...
Sumire's body was taken with them to be buried in Konoha...

On the way back, Kawaki stayed with her body the whole time... He cried so hard...

His girl was dead...and forever...

A few days passed and the funeral was about to take place...
Kawaki stood in front with his friends, holding Sumire's picture in his hands...
Tears ran down his face during the whole ceremony.... His whole life was destroyed...

His life was Sumire...

The ceremony took its course..., Sumire's coffin was lowered into the dug hole and each mourner placed a violet in front of the grave....

Kawaki felt worse and worse after the funeral, he blamed himself for everything, he reproached himself...
And then the report of Sumire's death appeared in all the newspapers and news channels...
Kawaki continued to break down... he withdrew more and more....

At some point he could take no more...
He left the house that night and went to Sumire's grave... he sat down in front of it and cried...

"I'm coming to you...I can't do without you..." he whispered...

The night was silent... until a shot rang out... Kawaki's lifeless body lay in front of Sumire's grave...

Kawaki was found the next day... Boruto was the finder... he knew that Kawaki was not killed... he knew that his brother had committed suicide...

On the same day, Kawaki was buried next to Sumire...

"Now you're reunited... brother....", Boruto said and placed a violet on Kawaki's grave...

Kawaki couldn't bear the loss... the loss of Sumire's death had torn a deep hole in him...
But now he was with her again...

The chapter is just an alternative... a what if scenario...
I had to cry so much while writing it myself... I couldn't help it
