My Story

Hello my name is Gianna, and this is the RedeemedByFaith blog.

I have started this blog because I feel God has led me to start a blog, to share my story and to help others who are struggling.

At the young age of twelve I got drawn into reading smut. It took me three years to overcome that addiction. A lot of teens and tweens nowadays are going through the same thing that I did, and the reason is because they have made sexual content increasingly easier to access, they draw young people in by slowly increasing the maturity of what they are reading. They make smut fanfictions about characters from kid/tween shows and books.

The tweens and teens that are getting drawn in don't even have a chance to escape before they are trapped.

That was me, before I knew what I was doing was wrong, I was trapped and it's very hard to break out of the trap of sexual addiction.

I'd say that the main source of all this smut addiction would be a website called Wattpad. If you are a parent and your kids want to read or write on Wattpad I would advise against it because a lot of bad is coming from that site, and I never hear anyone speak up against it. Most parents and kids are completely oblivious to the horrors of this site.

Wattpad is a website for readers and writers. Writers can publish their books on this site for free, they can also write any content they would like and it will not be taken down, and that is the problem with allowing adult content on a site for all ages. Wattpad should at least block adult content from kids and teens but they don't. Anyone from any age can access this mature content.

The innocence of children and teen are being raped away. Most of them don't even know what's happening until they are addicted. I am sure that at least one of your friends, or your children's friends is trapped or has been trapped on this content.

The thing is no one is offering help because no one knows. But I want to make a difference in those kids/teens lives, they need help and they need hope. It is extremely, ridiculously hard to tell people that you are struggling with a smut/sexual addiction, but it is almost impossible to get through this addiction without help. God has sent us here to help the broken-hearted and the broken in spirit. I want to fight for everyone who is going through this. I hope you will help me.

I have written Healing The Wounds Of Sexual Addiction by Dr. Mark Laaser on to a Google doc and I have been going to the comments and sharing the link to people.
