Kylie and Malia... two best friends sharing the same interests and goals. Becoming the best Hip-hop dancer there is. The dance studio is what really drove them closer even though Kylie wouldn't admit it as much as she loved Malia there were other feelings too. She not only saw her as competition but every time she saw her she felt the butterflies in her stomach. At that point in time she was too young to know what that ment so she shrugged it off. Until...

Flashback

"Malia where are you going? We were supposed to learn a new choreo for the competition! I haven't seen you in a while.." kylie's face falls saying that last part. She hated not seeing the girl. Not being close to her, even tho she didn't know what that ment. Yet....
"None of your business Kylie! God why are you always so possessive?!" Malia says anger and a pang of guilt seeping through her voice. She didn't want to speak that way to Kylie but she had to... She already made her decision.
"Lia! I'm just worried, okay? Talk to me! I'm your best friend!" Kylies face lets on more than she'd like. She's heartbroken. She never thought her best friend would speak to her that way.
"Okay. You want to talk? I'll talk." Malia said pausing slightly before starting again.
"I'm not your best friend. Actually! I'm not your friend at all! I don't know what you got in that twisted mind of yours but i'm not. And i never will be. I'm dancing at a new studio! Away from you!" She says a bit too loud startling Kylie. The poor girl was on the verge of tears at her words.
"No. No you don't mean that! Malia please don't do this! Please stay." She sobbed begging the young girl to stay. To stay so she wouldn't be alone again. She couldn't be alone again...

But in the end it always starts with no.

All Malia said was "no" with that the girl left, not saying another word. Leaving Kylie all alone over and over again. But this time Kylie swore it would be different. She swore it would be the last time. That's what hurt most.

End of flashback

Little Kylie didn't know how to cope with what happened so she just threw herself in dance and music trying to drown out the thoughts that corrupted her mind. It was like there was someone in her head who wouldn't stop tormenting her. All she ever heard the voice say is "You're not good enough. Thats why she left!" , "You're the problem. If you had been a better friend maybe she'd still be here!" , "It's you that should've left! Nobody wants you! Nobody cares about you!" And so on. That was really weighing on little Kylie. How could she ever tell her parents about these thoughts? They'd think she's mental! So she kept it all bottled up, buried deep down where no one would find it. Where Kylie doesn't let anyone look, not even her father. But you know at some point it overflows... the bottles cork pops... and all the emotions come spilling out. That happened when she saw malia again... At the same dance competition she'd been training so hard for. Yet her legs felt week and everything went black....

Little Malia was never the type to "leave" but when it came to Kylie she knew she had to. She couldn't keep hurting herself keeping this secret from her. Wait wait i'll give you guys a little context! From an early age Malia knew who she was and she was proud of it. Yeah she liked girls. So what? She didn't think that should define her so she never told anyone. That was eating her alive. These feelings that started growing....
For her best friend. Her Kylie. She couldn't bare being around her. At least not without doing something stupid.... Like kissing her.
She knew she had to get away somehow. Even if it broke her in the process. She didn't mean what she said to Kylie. Hell she wanted the exact opposite. Her heart aches for the girl but she knows she can't have her. And she's not one to admire from afar. That's when she made the decision to switch dance studios and ultimately break her own heart. By cutting of Kylie completely.

It was the day of the competition and somehow she was worried. Not about getting her dance moves right but about facing Kylie, after how harsh she'd been towards the girl. When suddenly in the corner of her eye she spots her but she notices something wrong. Kylie isn't herself... before she could fully analyse what was going on with the girl she heard a loud thump and her eyes darted to the floor. There was Kylie laying unconscious.
All of her instincts suddenly came kicking in. "Someone call an ambulance!!" She shouted sprinting towards the girl laying her head in her lap. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she was holding the girl, her thumb softly caressing her cheek. "Please be okay baby.. i'm sorry... i'm so sorry for everything." She sobbed.
An ambulance finally arrived and they took Kylie. As much as she fought they wouldn't let her in. She had to see her. She couldn't leave her side. Not while she was like... well. This.
She took it upon herself and grabbed her stuff heading for the hospital....

A few hours later

Malia was anxiously waiting in the lobby for the blackhaired girl to wake up when suddenly she heard her name being called out.
"Malia Baker? She's awake." When she heard those words she darted inside like her life depended on it. Pulling her for a tight hug, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry Kylie." She said, her words muffled. But Kylie didn't hug back. She pushed her off.
"No. No you're not." She said with a serious look in her eyes. "Please leave. You're the reason i'm here. I don't want to see you." Kylie said her tone cold and disconnected. Those words broke Malia. As much as she hated it she reluctantly got up and left. She knew Kylie was right. But she had to fix it. She wouldn't let her problems or insecurities get in the way this time. Her life might be messed up but... One way or another, she'd have Kylie back in her life... the only thing keeping this whole shitshow together....
