The girl doesn’t respond immediately. Instead, she reaches out, her small hand grasping his. The moment her fingers touch his skin, a sudden, searing pain shoots through his arm. Toinic grits his teeth, watching in shock as symbols start to appear on the back of his hand, burning themselves into his skin.
A tattoo takes shape—a fierce dragon, coiled and breathing fire, its eyes glinting with power. The design is intricate, each scale perfectly detailed, and it glows with a faint blue light before fading to black.
