[time skip]

You had been visiting him each day like promised and would regularly put some new bandages on his chest, back, and shoulders. You both would have good conversations and just have fun most of the time you spent together.

It had at least been a month after his dad was put in jail for good and all of the anxiety and stress that he caused seem to leave Ted and his mom.

Over time he seemed to feel more confident in himself, and more confident in his skin.
The burden of dealing with his father's abuse had come to a stop and he was now able to feel comfortable in his own house again.
His mom was also relieved and less anxious she didn't have to deal with his sudden lash outs anymore.

Though over time you started to notice him getting more shy and embarrassed around you for simple things, like one time when your hand brushed against his more sensitive skin when he needed help slipping his shirt over his shoulder when you had just put a fresh pair of gauze around his body.

You of course didn't really think of it much and just thought he was embarrassed for not being able to do it himself and just shrugged it off.

Today was no different and you were currently on your way to his house with some new stuff to help his healing process go bye a bit more smoothly.

You knocked on the door and a few seconds later you felt a light drizzle of rain start to come down, he opened the door, he smiled at you and quickly let you come in.
"Good to see you came here in one piece"
You laughed a little and shrugged slightly
"Of course I did, wouldn't want to keep my friend waiting too long"
He rolled his eyes jokingly and led you to the kitchen where his mom was stirring a boiling pot.
she smiled at you happily and gave you a hug as you said your hello's.
"Hello sweetie, how's everything at home..?"
"Its good, my mom's out with her friends, it took some convincing to make her take a break from work but she's doing good"
She smiled and nodded glad to hear you were doing well "oh, that's good to hear honey"
Ted awkwardly ushered you upstairs to his room as you waved at his mom again, she giggled a little at Ted's attempt to getaway from the conversation and his wanting to just get his bandages changed.

"Be careful you too!"
Ted rolled his eyes at his mom's over protective comment as he led you upstairs. "We will!" You called back to his mom as you entered his room.
he closed the door behind him and walked over to his bed.
"Jeez, I can't believe it started to rain the exact time you came over"
He slid his shirt off and faced away from you so you could change the bandages on his back and shoulders.
"Idk, well at least it didn't start raining when I was walking over here"
You started to cut the old bandages off of him as you conversed about the weather and other random things that came to mind.

[y/n's POV]

I remember suddenly that I had a new thing that would help his body heal more comfortably and stopped myself from putting anything on him just yet. "Oh, Before I wrap you up again, I have this new ointment that helps with irritated and dry skin"
He nodded not really understanding what it would really help with on the speed of the healing process but decided to tryst your word on it anyways.
He stayed faced away from you not wanting you to see his front side that had the more nasty bruises and cuts, even though he knew the ointment would be needed there.

"It's okay Ted, I've already seen the chest and abdomen wounds you have..."
Regardless of your reassurance he still felt insecure about his body's beaten up appearance and simply shook his head in response.
"Ted it's okay, I still love you as a great friend and for who you are.."
His face flushed slightly when you mentioned you loved him but was a little saddened knowing it wasn't any more than just friendly words of encouragement.
