It was an awkward silence as Dana and Fatima looked at each other to see what Zachary was going to do or what Ryder was going to say after seeing him jump from the table to take his phone call.
Ryder said nothing. Fatima assumed she didn't notice. Zachary came back to the table five minutes later. He was so busy tearing his food up that he didn't read the room. When he finally looked up, he noticed Ryder was staring at him with an inquisitive look.
Ryder: Daddy, who was that little girl on your phone?
Fatima: Ry Ry, are you finished eating?
Ryder: I'm almost finished, Mommy.
Fatima:Ok, hurry up. We are going to the drive-in.
Ryder: Ok. Mommy can I wear my new pj's I got today and Bently you can't fall asleep like last time.
Bently: You fell asleep too! Didn't she mommy?
Dana: Yes, everybody was sleeping including me. But we're going to see a spooky movie so I don't think yall will fall asleep.
Ryder: I'm done mommy.
Fatima: Ok good. Yes you can wear your pj's. Go put them on, leave your socks on and put on your gym shoes.
Ryder: Can I wear my light up shoes?
Fatima: No baby, I don't even know if both shoes are in one of those bags. I might have to buy you new ones.
Zachary: What size shoe does she wear?
Fatima: She wears an 11 1/2 shoes, 6T clothes and her favorite clothing is Target's Cat and Jack line.
Zachary: Baby, ill take you shopping tomorrow to get you new shoes and clothes after we get you and mommy all moved into your new house.
Ryder: Ok daddy.
Ryder climbed out of her seat and sat in her Dad's lap. Dana had to get a picture, it was literally the cutest thing ever.
Ryder: Daddy, can I have a toy, I don't have any more and I want a doll like the one that was in that pink room. Daddy did that little girl on the phone see the pink room too?
Zachary: Yes, that's her room. Her name is Reign.
Ryder: Where her at?
Zachary:She's at home with her mommy.
Ryder: Why her got a pink room at your other house?
Dana was so proud of Ryder for her asking clarifying questions, but Fatima wanted her to shut up real bad. She didn't say anything because Ryder wasn't asking anything wrong.
Zachary: She lives at my other house.
Ryder: Her at home with her mom and she got a pink room at your other house. Her got two houses daddy?
Zachary: No baby, she has one house with Daddy.
Fatima gave Zachary a look letting him know not to say to much. Ryder don't need to know nothing about his wife because she won't be nowhere around her.
Ryder: Is her at your fancy pool hotel?
Zachary: No she is with her mom.
Ryder: Where is her daddy?
Zachary: Where you think her daddy at?
Ryder: I don't know, oh daddy I need a swimming suit too.
Zachary: I got you.
Fatima: You and Benny go put on a movie or play, no running.
Dana: She has an extra swimsuit at my house. I can bring it when I bring Benny. Ti I'm going to put them in there pj's and pack their snack bag. Zachary I'll see you tomorrow, thanks again for including Bently.
Zachary: No problem, he's a cool little dude. It's cool.
Dana left to attend to the kids. Just like Ryder did Fatima had a list of questions but unlike Ryder she wasn't going to fall for the answer a question with a question trick.
Fatima: So what's your plan Zachary?
How are you going to explain this to her?
Are you also going to tell your other daughter about Ry?
What about your wife?
You know I don't want my baby anywhere near her, right?

Zachary: Why would anyone have to get the short end of the stick. They are both my kids and I'll love and treat them the same. I am married so at some point she will meet her step mother and she will be in her life when I have her with me.
Fatima: No, fuck that. I don't want her near Ryder at all!
Zachary: At this time that won't be a problem but eventually my wife and I will work this and at some point in the future we will all have to coexist.
Fatima: I'm not coexisting with no fucking body and niether is Ryder.
Zachary: Fatima, I don't want to upset you but you're no longer her sole decision maker. She is ours not yours, we will make decisions together for her. Right now my wife isn't an issue so we don't have to discuss her until it is. What's important is for my girls to meet each other and they will tomorrow at the pool.
Fatima: Nah, change of plans. She's not going.
Zachary: Oh so you wanna be petty? Why? Reign is just as innocent as Ryder, niether you or my wife will stand in the way of me being a father to my kids. BOTH of my kids!
Fatima: You can be a father to her but she isn't going anywhere with you until we have a court agreement. As far as everything else, thanks but no thanks.
Zachary: Huh?
Fatima: It would be rude for me to ask you to leave your own house but dinner is over and I got plans with her tonight. We will be out of here by 1pm tomorrow afternoon and I'll leave the keys in the mailbox. Sometime next week we can work out a schedule for you to visit her but not take her until she's more familiar with you. I have to protect my daughters best interests.
Zachary: Since when? Because for her entire life you let a man mistreat her and mentally abuse her but now you want to be mother of the year. Wasn't you the one just hollering about someone being intimated by a 6yr old but you're just as intimated by a 8 year old. You need to grow up.
Fatima: Ryder baby come say goodnight to Zachary so we can get ready to go.
Ryder ran back into the kitchen, even the baby could sense the tension in the air. Dana and Benny came behind her also feeling the thickness in the room.
Ryder: Daddy can you come with us?
Zachary picked Ryder up and carried her off to the livingroom to play with her completely ignoring Fatima urging him to leave. Benny ran with them. Dana hung back in the kitchen to calm Fatima down.
Dana: What happened?
Fatima: He thinks Ryder is going to be a third wheel in his life and she's not. Fuck him wife and all that coexisting shit, that lady does not want my baby in Zachary's life. She told me that herself 5.5 years ago and he sitting here telling me I'm intimated by a kid that's not even his fucking kid. Bet, he can keep being a father to her and leave mines the fuck alone.
Ryder: We ready to go to the movies mommy, my dad said him will call you before he picks me up tomorrow.
Fatima: Did he leave?
Ryder: Yes, him outside talking to that lady that you was talking to this morning.
Fatima: What lady?
Ryder: That lady, her outside talking to my daddy right now. Her got that little girl with her that was on my daddy phone. Is that girl going to swimming with us a my daddy fancy hotel pool?
Yikes, is Fatima about to go out there and act a fool pregnant infront of these kids?
