Once inside the club, Alyssa’s eyes darted around, taking in the layout and scanning for anyone who might fit the description Elena had given. The target, a man named Luis "El Toro" Morales, was known for his flamboyant style and was rarely seen without a drink in hand. Han placed a calming hand on her shoulder, grounding her. “Remember, we’re just here to observe, blend in, and catch anything useful. Don’t get too close unless you have to,” he said, his voice barely audible over the thumping music.

Alyssa nodded, her pulse quickening. She’d been in high-stakes situations before, but nothing quite like this. Playing the part of an undercover informant wasn’t her usual role. She took a deep breath, letting Han’s calm presence steady her.

Moments later, she spotted a group gathered in a private lounge area, laughing and talking over the music. At the center was El Toro, recognizable by his gold chains, slicked-back hair, and a tailored suit that screamed wealth. His loud, boisterous laugh cut through the din of the club, as he regaled his entourage with what seemed to be a tall tale.

“Over there,” she whispered, subtly nodding in his direction. Han’s gaze followed, his expression unreadable.

“Alright. I’ll make my way closer, see if I can overhear anything. You stay here and keep an eye on the exits. If anything goes wrong, we’re out, no questions,” Han said, already slipping into the crowd with his practiced ease.

Alyssa positioned herself near a corner bar, looking as inconspicuous as possible while her eyes stayed glued to El Toro’s group. She noticed two men standing guard near him, both visibly armed under their jackets. This was no casual night out; El Toro clearly came prepared, as though expecting trouble.

As Han casually drifted closer to El Toro’s group, Alyssa could see him leaning near a pillar, close enough to hear fragments of conversation while appearing lost in thought. Every so often, he’d glance back at Alyssa, ensuring she was okay.

A sudden commotion to her left pulled Alyssa’s attention away momentarily. A waitress had tripped, spilling drinks onto a patron. The brief distraction was enough to miss the moment when El Toro glanced her way. He frowned slightly, his gaze narrowing as he surveyed the club. Alyssa quickly looked away, hoping he hadn’t caught her staring.

Then, as if on cue, Han gave her a subtle signal to move closer. With a steadying breath, she made her way to him, weaving through the crowd until she was just a few feet from El Toro’s group, pretending to be interested in the bustling dance floor.

Just then, El Toro’s voice rose above the others, discussing a "shipment" that had to be moved by the end of the week. Alyssa’s heart skipped a beat. This could be the information they needed to put a dent in the cartel’s supply chain. She strained to hear more, committing every word to memory.

One of El Toro’s guards suddenly looked their way, and Han shifted, draping an arm around Alyssa as if they were just another couple in the crowd. “Relax,” he whispered in her ear. “Just keep listening.”

El Toro laughed again, oblivious to their presence, but as he kept talking, he mentioned an address on the city’s east side. Alyssa’s eyes lit up as she mentally recorded the details. This could be the break they were looking for.

After a few more minutes, Han nodded, signaling they had what they needed. With careful, measured movements, they eased back through the crowd, moving toward the exit. Alyssa’s adrenaline spiked, but she held her composure, mirroring Han’s calm stride.

Outside, the cool night air hit her like a wave of relief. She looked up at Han, a grin breaking out on her face. “We did it.”

Han smirked, ruffling her hair affectionately. “Told you we had this. Now, let’s get back to the garage and share the news. This could be exactly what we need to bring El Toro down.”

As they drove away from the pulsing lights of the club, Alyssa felt a renewed sense of purpose. This mission had been a success, but they were only just beginning. The cartel was on borrowed time, and she and her crew weren’t stopping until they saw them brought to justice.
