The weekend was over, and I tried avoiding both Suguru and Choso the entire time as much as I could. We soon all left Yujis apartment and went home.
I had just gotten home and walked through the door when I got a call from an unknown caller. I picked up without looking and heard a familiar voice that made me smile.
"Nanami, hi. It's nice to hear from you. How are you?" I spoke politely over the phone as I walked into the kitchen with it to my ear to grab a drink.
My voice and the man's name caused both Satoru and Suguru, who were sitting at the counter, shooting me looks. I ignored them but they followed me as I walked to my bedroom.
"Hey, Y/N. Just another's day, you know how it is. What about you? Anything about your last situation that's improved?"
We talked for a few moments, and when I realized the boys were watching me, I pushed them out while I continued to talk and shut the door on them.
"I was just calling to see if you'd maybe like to go out tonight. I know it's short notice, but I'm swamped with work next week, and I'd enjoy seeing you again." He asked me.
I paused, and my smile dropped slightly as I hesitated.
"Not a date. Just to... get to know each other a little. I thought we got along well at the gallery. Maybe we could hit it off, I don't know." He started to ramble a little. Cute.
"You know what? Tonight sounds like a great idea." I replied and smiled again.
"Good. I'll pick you up at 7. Dress casual." And with that, he hung up. Casual? I'd be lying if I'd say I thought he wouldn't take me to some fancy extravagant place. He looks like the type. Not that that's a bad thing, of course.
It was around 5 now, so I decided to start getting ready. I showered, got dressed in a floral dress that was modest but fit me beautifully. I put on some light makeup and put my hair up into a clip, and called it good.
I walked out of my room, and eyes immediately locked onto me as soon as I walked into the living room.
"Where are you going?"
"Why are you all dressed up, princess?"
I only smiled and shrugged nonchalantly. "I've got a date." I replied. I didn't really consider Nanami any type of love interest even though he was definitely attractive. I didn't consider this a date with him either, but they didn't need to know that.
"A date?" Suguru deadpanned, and I saw his dark eyes narrow just the tiniest bit. I nodded, and he only hummed.
"Who's the lucky guy?" Satoru asked, his eyes holding a hit of an emotion close to disappointment.
"He's a mystery."
Nanami was 10 minutes early, but I didn't mind since I'd already been ready. Satoru and Suguru stood at the front door as they watched me walk out and get into Nanamis expensive and extremely nice car. He even opened the door for me and offered me a sweet but tired smile.
He was as put together as I'd last seen him but dressed in a white button-down and some dress pants. His hair styled perfectly, and he smelled fresh and minty.
The boys watched me, and I could feel their heated stares even as the car drove out the lot, making me glance back and catch them with dark looks on their faces.
Now it was just me and Nanami.
"You look gorgeous, you know. I think that dress really suits you." A smile immediately formed on my face as I looked over at him driving. One hand on the wheel and the other on his thigh.
