Idiot Soulmates

Chapter 3

A shower, nap, and car ride later has Althea finding herself outside of a hotel room. She's wiping her hands down her pants, feeling sorely underdressed in a t shirt and pair of pajama pants. Still, she didn't really have anything else to wear that wasn't site visit attire. Shaking her head, she decides that this the best she was going to be able to do and knocks on the door. It's a bit louder than she meant to, and she tries not to wince as it echoes down the hallway, "I really hope that didn't wake anyone up." She mutters to herself, head ducking down a bit, the building anxiety of the conversations that are about to come eating away at her.

The door rips open and she looks up to see Soobin smiling wide at her. He reaches a hand out, wrapping around her wrist and pulling her inside. The door shuts and he's pushing her up against it, smirking down at her flushed skin as he leans in, "Right where we left off." he says with a chuckle and a raised brow. Her mouth opens and closes a couple times, not sure to respond, but Soobin just gives her a lovesick smile before leaning in to press a kiss against her lips, arms wrapping around her waist.

He pulls back, resting his forehead against hers and sighs, "I'd been wanting to do that all day."

Althea smiles up at him, face still flushed, "Same. It took a lot for me to walk away from you this afternoon." she admits shyly.

He nods, starting to pull her into the room, "I'm glad it was you and not me, because I definitely would not have been able to walk away. Yeonjun even had to grab onto me when you were leaving to keep me from following you." He motions to the rest of the room, "They moved me into a single room when we got back so we could have time by ourselves." He sits down on the bed and starts pulling her to join him. She debates for a minute sitting on his lap, but shoves it aside, deciding that that would be better saved for once they got to know each other a bit more. She instead sits down next to him. Soobin pouts a bit, having hoped that she would have sat somewhere else, but shrugging it off. Just meant he needed to work on getting her to feel more comfortable with him. He tilts his head, thinking about it for a minute before deciding he's just not that patient.

Instead, he moves up towards the headrest, putting his back against it before using his strength to drag her around until she's sitting in his lap, hands on her hips to push her down and keep her there when she tries to hover over him. "There." He mutters, smiling at her with smugness, "Much better. Having you right where you belong."

"I... um... I didn't want to assume." She mutters again, still a little nervous.

Soobin shakes his head, "Darling, Assume. You're my soulmate and I'm over the moon about it. I know some people might want a platonic relationship, but based on the feelings I've been having towards you all day and even before we met, I know that we're destined for much more."

"How... how can you be so sure?" Althea mutters again, staring at Soobin as his eyes seem to fill with stars.

He gives her a soft smile, hands moving up to cup her face, "How can I not be? You are my other half. The person made just for me in this entire universe. I have been in love with you since these words appeared on my skin." He lifts his shirt, ignoring Althea squeak at all the exposed skin on display. He lifts one of her hands, pulling it up to trace along the edges of the letters, biting down on his lip to hide the sounds that show just how good her touch feels, "You've been inked onto my skin for years. A map leading me to you and keeping me going against all the storms that have raged around me."

"But you don't know me..." She whispers, voice getting a little choked up.

He shakes his head, letting go of his shirt to capture her face in his hands again, leaning forward to press a bruising kiss to her face, "But I know myself, and I love myself. How could I not fully love someone who mirrors me in all the ways that matter?"
