"Crowley!!" Aziraphale ran full tilt towards the demon. He had managed to break away from the mob that was after him and now he only had one goal in mind: get to Crowley.
"Angel!" Crowley shouted back as he fought off demons and angels alike, he struggled out of their grasps and ran towards the angel. Aziraphale practically flew into Crowley's arms, he hugged his old friend tight.
"Angel-" Crowley began but he was quickly cut off as Aziraphale pulled away from him.
"No time. We need to stop this war now. They're going to end the world." Aziraphale gestured out to the hoards of demons and angels fighting around them.
"I have an idea!" Crowley said, grabbing Aziraphale's arm, the Angel whipped his head back towards him.
"What if we do a miracle together? Something that will end all of this fighting for good."
"Like what?" Aziraphale responded quickly.
"I don't know, like a memory wipe or something." Crowley suggested.
"No, that's too intricate, memory is messy and as much as I want this fighting to stop, heaven and hell still need to exist for the humans." Aziraphale pointed out.
"Augh I can't think under all this pressure! There's no time!" Crowley shouted, and Aziraphale's face lit up.
"Time! That's it! Of course! Crowley, stop time for just a moment, take us all somewhere else like you did with Adam."
"What, for all these people? It was hard enough doing it for just the three of us how am I supposed to do it for the thousands of celestial beings here??" He questioned, but Aziraphale remained smiling.
"I'll help you! When we did the miracle to hide Gabriel it came out to be nearly 25 Lazari! And that was when we weren't even trying! Imagine what we're capable of when we are!" Crowley considered this for less than a moment before responding.
"Alright, we don't really have time to come up with a better plan so this will do. Hold onto my hand Angel, and just copy me." Crowley extended out his hand and Aziraphale took it without hesitation. He followed Crowley's lead and concentrated hard.

Aziraphale opened his eyes to find himself in an expansive desert, holding Crowley's hand.
"Holy shit it worked!" Crowley exclaimed, a smile spreading across his face. Aziraphale smiled too, he felt his wings on his back and both him and Crowley ascended into the air which caught the attention of the disoriented angels and demons.
"Alright I'm only going to say this once!" Aziraphale boomed from the sky. All of the angels and demons looked up at the two of them, still holding hands.
"You are all going to stop this madness at once! Don't you see what you're doing?? You are fighting a war that cannot be won!  Heaven is a corrupt beurocratic nightmare and Hell is not very much better! This war will only end in pointless death and neither of you will get to rule Earth when it is done because there will be no Earth left! So put your stupid fucking weapons down and discuss this like adults already! I mean do you even remember what you're fighting for??" The various celestial beings began to shout things but Aziraphale just rolled his eyes.

"That was a rhetorical question!! The answer is that you don't! This was started and ended thousands of years ago with the falling of the angels, there is no reason for it to continue now!"
"But there is!" Someone from the crowd shouted, "We need to know who's right!" More murmurs began as angels and demons agreed.
"Don't you get it?? Neither of you are right! Heaven and Hell exist to balance each other out! Heaven would not be any good if there was no Hell to compare it to! There is no good without evil! There is no black without white!" Aziraphale turned to Crowley, "There are no demons without Angels." He turned back to the crowd.
"Now. We're going to go back to the real world because it is VERY draining keeping you all here. When we go back, there will be no more fighting. Understood?" The angels and demons mostly nodded and Crowley and Aziraphale floated back down to the ground before releasing hands and dropping the illusion. They both let out a sigh, they were drained.
"Last time I suspend that many beings in time." Crowley said, trying to catch his breath a bit, Aziraphale nodded.

Micheal, Uriel, Saraquel, FurFur, and Shax all approached Aziraphale and Crowley. Micheal spoke first,
"We have thought about your...proposal and we think we could come to some sort of agreement." Furfur and Shax nodded,
"Us as well," Shax agreed, "as much as I hate these inssecent angels...it would be no fun if there were no more damned souls to torture." She admitted.
"How about the agreement be that Heaven leaves Hell alone and lets them do some non-world ending demonic tempting on Earth and Hell leaves Heaven alone and lets them do some non-world ending Angelic tempting." Crowley proposed, "As a result you will all get a steady supply of souls to torture or...whatever it is heaven does, and you can both stay out of each other's way." He finished, and Shax and Micheal nodded.
"Oh and also leave us alone too, will you?" Aziraphale pleaded, "In fact as my last act as Head Archangle I order you to leave Crowley and I alone to our life on Earth for the rest of eternity. There, now I am officially stepping down as Head Archangel." Aziraphale said definitively. Uriel leaned over to Saraquel,
"Can he do that?" They asked, and Saraquel just shrugged.

Aziraphale let out a sigh of relief, he looked over to Crowley who seemed to share the same sentiment.
Micheal looked to Shax and the two nodded.
"Great so we can agree, no more fighting? No more Armageddon plans?" Crowley said, and the demons and angels alike nodded.
"We still hate you though, this isn't a peace agreement." Furfur clarified and Crowley nodded.
"No no of course not, it's a..."
"Truce." Aziraphale finished for him, he turned to Crowley and smiled.
"Alright a truce then, should we shake on it?" Shax offered, turning to Micheal. The angel nodded and they shook hands.
"Alright, see you never then." Shax said as her and Fufur disappeared back to Hell. Micheal rolled her eyes as her, Uriel and Saraquel disappeared back to Heaven. One by one the angels and demons that were fighting disappeared as well until it was just Aziraphale and Crowley left, standing in an empty field.

"Did we just..." Crowley began as he turned to Aziraphale.
"Avert Armageddon again? Yes dear, I believe we did." Aziraphale said to him with a smile.
"Huh. Well that wasn't so bad. Want to go for some lunch?" Crowley asked the angel.
"Yes, but there's something I need to do first" Aziraphale replied. He took Crowley's hands in his and kissed him again. His hand went up to the back of Crowley's neck to pull him in closer. After what felt like an eternity Aziraphale pulled away.
"I love you, and I'm not going to pretend that I don't anymore. I'm sick of pretending. No more Heaven and certainly no more Hell. We can just be us now. We can go wherever we like."
Aziraphale said to a very stunned looking Crowley.
"I love you too Angel, and I want to go anywhere as long as it's with you." Crowley responded. Aziraphale smiled wide and grabbed his hand. The two walked off together, a nightingale fluttered down onto the tree branch above.
