Flashback starts
-------------------

Ace's fingers gently combed through Aizen's hair, his nails softly grazing his scalp.

His touch was tender, his nails just the right mix of firm and light.

So when Ace sat on the couch doing nothing, it was practically an invitation for him to rest his head in his lap, letting him scratch his head just the way he liked.

He was stretched out on the sofa, his head nestled in her lap, his long lashes brushing against his cheeks as he drifted off to sleep.

Each gentle stroke seemed to lull him deeper, and before long, his soft, rhythmic breaths turned into faint snores.

Ace looked down at him, watching him sleep with a small, affectionate smile.

Cute!

He thought to himself, marveling at how peaceful he looked. They'd never actually defined their relationship. It was just one of those things they both understood but never talked about. They'd never exchanged the usual titles or labels, but what they had felt bigger than words anyway.

They spent their nights talking, laughing, sometimes lost in quiet moments of intimacy. If Aizen was away, they'd stay up late on the phone, talking about everything and nothing until they finally drifted off to sleep, miles apart yet somehow closer than ever.

Ace shifted slightly, feeling the need to get up, to freshen up before they headed to bed. As carefully as he could, he slid his lap out from under him, gently lowering his head onto a pillow on the couch.

But as he began to stand, he felt a familiar tug on his hand.

Hee looked down to see Aizen's fingers wrapped loosely around his, his eyelids fluttering open as he looked up at him with sleepy, half-lidded eyes. His hair was a tousled mess, his face relaxed and softened by sleep.

"Where are you going?" he mumbled, his voice thick with drowsiness.

Ace smiled, a warmth spreading through his chest. he knelt down beside him, brushing a strand of hair away from his face.

"Just to get freshened up," he said softly.

Then, leaning in, he pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead, watching as his lips curled into a contented smile.

"Come on, let's go to bed, Zen," hee murmured, resuming heis gentle scratching along his scalp.

He gave a small, reluctant groan but sat up, reaching for Ace's hand again as they made their way to the bedroom-their bedroom, though they'd never called it that. Ace never had to ask him to stay; he always just seemed to be there, as if he belonged in every corner of his space. Same goes to Ace as well. Ace was also everywhere in Aizen's room.

Once in the room, they moved through their nightly rituals in comfortable silence, each familiar with the other's routine. Aizen fumbled a bit with his skincare, and Ace shot him a look of mock disapproval before taking the product from his hands, dabbing some onto his face and gently working it in, while he tried and failed to suppress a smirk.

"Hold still," he chided, the softness in his voice betraying his attempt at sounding serious.

"You're always wriggling around."
