At the heart of the medieval period, a gentle rain began to fall over the land of Verastuego. The drizzle gradually grew heavier, evolving into a relentless downpour that drenched the earth.
As mud formed, a young swordsman named Hugo Hunt began running over the source as it made a 'squishing' sound. As dusk began to turn into night time, on his right hand, he quickly snapped his fingers as it then formed a yellow, glowing orb floating on top of his thumb, and index finger. His forearm stood slightly up as the raindrops began to pour even more.
With mud sticking onto the bottom of his boots, he kept running and running, with a small-sized pouch made of fabric he stole, began to shake against the leather texture under his swordsman's robe. With yellow light illuminating the right side of his face from the orb he spawned, he then suddenly heard a horse's feet hitting the pavement and mud under it, galloping towards his direction.
His eyes immediately widened as his speed began to get faster and faster, with sounds like 'Chuguduk-Chuguduk!' began to go as the same speed as him. Then, he snapped his fingers from his right hand again to dim the yellow light the orb was making, as it then began to go out.
Then, he turned his head behind his shoulders to see three mercenaries mounted on horses behind him, forming a V, with their horses galloping and sprinting as they leaned their chests onto the neck of their horses.
He then immediately turned his head back on where it was as his running turned into sprinting. His boots almost began to pull from his heel. "Get that kid! He's carrying a fortune...!" the mercenary in the middle yelled, as the civilians of the town inside the land of Verastuego took attention. With more than twice a dozen of civilians joining the chase with the mercenaries, as they held either a pitchfork, or a large torch.
"Great, just really great." Hugo then commented as he continued sprinting.
Then, he then placed his right hand against his chest as he held up his index, and his third finger. And calmed himself out as he continued sprinting with his upper body leaning front, "Celeritas..." Hugo whispered, and before he knew it, he sprinted faster. But it wasn't fast enough, though he couldn't think of any spell that made him faster than what speed he is running.
Hugo is a rather, arrogant teenager. Though that doesn't mean that he doesn't have a kind heart, he's just as tall as a large-sized plant that you could fit under your roof. He's normal at health, but the only food he eats are berries, fruits, natural vegetables, and possibly a piece of cow meat if he wanted to eat one. He's also a magic-handler, a title for people who does great at magic spells. Overall, he's just a sixteen year-old boy who wanted to be a true swordsman for himself, but a scar in his heart left him to be the way he is, which almost everybody has.
With wind passing through him at the chase, he still continued to sprint. But the people behind him began to be tired, he rolled his eyes to look behind and smirked, "They were weaklings after all..." he muttered to himself, but three were still with energy, the mercenaries. "Gosh, can't they take a break?" he muttered again as he faced to the front. But as he did, his eyes widened as he skidded, he was heading towards a cliff. He tried to turn back but it was too late, he tripped on a pebbled and fell, but thankfully, he hung onto the tip of the cliff, with rocks falling under him.
Then, the people who were chasing after him slowed down and finally stopped. With the mercenary on the left getting down, smirking. "So," the mercenary then paused as he walked towards the tip of the cliff, squatting to get closer, "Dead end, outlaw..." the mercenary said, proud of himself for insulting Hugo, as the other mercenaries were covering their mouths with the back of their hands to keep them from laughing.
"Aren'cha gonna do something, or are you just gonna sit there like a deranged lunatic?" Hugo insulted back, which made the mercenary's smile fade. Then, the mercenary grabbed a small pebble and threw it on Hugo's face. "I'm not a lunatic, you idiot," the mercenary paused for a bit, "You're on a dead end, anyways... Perhaps a chat?" the mercenary thought he had it smooth, with him smirking about.
Hugo then rolled his eyes as a response, "Are you light-headed?" he replied as he looked at the mercenary with disgust, the mercenary's goatee dripping with sweat. "But, this isn't really a dead-end, dumbass. Everything is possible." Hugo then smirked as his palm began to slip off with his own sweat, but after a few moments, he then let go off the tip of the cliff and let himself fall.
The raindrops then slowly began to fade, and fell head-first. He then pulled out a sword's grip heft as the blade the retracted to front. The mercenary looked more confused than ever, but as the blade made a 'chung-ng!' sound, his fall then began to fasten, pointing it down onto a nearby river where he would land.
But instead of holding the handle tightly, he then slowly let go off it, with both hands moving slowly out simultaneously, as he lets the magic do his own thing. "...supernatet.", he muttered below his breath, and added, "Celeritas Supernatet!" he yelled, which made him fall faster than ever!
As wind passed through him, he eventually then landed onto the river he was aiming for to land on, as he got to the water, he pushed his feet upwards for him to get to the surface. With him finally catching his breath.
"Hah... Hah..." he panted as he then got up, his boots meeting with the dark camouflage green grass, he then got under the tree, and looked up, finally getting his deserved rest.
His sword then un-retracted, as he then used the wooden grip heft as a pillow, and slowly drifted to sleep. He's just as tired as I am.
