Despite just being a duke's youngest child, your father just so happens to be the king's best friend and as a result, you became the crown prince's childhood best friend and his right hand man when the two of you grown up.
Even as grown adults, you two shared habits never changed like how he would lay on your lap while doing the paperwork or how you two occasionally sleep together at night because the crown prince can not sleep without something to hug. You would make him desserts, taking care of him and he'll tuck you to bed if you fall asleep while working.
You knew that your friend was a clingy person but you also noticed that these days, he has been much more clingy to you than he should be, ever since the new assistant came? To you, the new guy was really a sweet person but you didn't slide over the fact that you saw the prince gave a very hateful glare towards the assistant.
So one night, when the prince come to sleep with you, you decided to confront him about the whole glare thingy. Though you didn't expect him with a sobbing face, confess his feelings for you and having you trying to comfort him then hug him to sleep, completely defeated.
"You tried to take them away from me, you should've known better, to be honest."

As the crown prince awake from his fake sleep now that he confirmed that you've fallen asleep completely, he give you a kiss on the forehead before leaving the room.
As the assistant begging for his life under the threatening sword of the crown prince, he just let out a 'tsk' and a sarcastic look towards the poor assistant.
"You tried to take them away from me... You should've known better, to be honest."
