Today's the day. Our schools final home game, today we play against South Central High.

Camila's POV

I woke up at 7 a.m. to make my boyfriend Kash a proper breakfast before he swings by to pick me up. He needs to be well energized in order to perform at our home game today. Our school won the first four games already, so I'm pretty sure the team won't disappoint.

I got out of bed, showered, and put on the jersey, which I had already laid out from the night before. And picked a white flared boyfriend skirt. I put my hair in a messy high bun and put my bow on. I packed my cheer uniform in my duffle bag and all my other necessities. And headed downstairs to make breakfast. When I got downstairs, my brother Caleb, who is also my boyfriend's best friend, was sat on the couch rewatching their last game.

"Goodmorning dufus" I said to him, smacking the back of his head when I walked past.

" hmmmm," he replied, concentrating on the screen

" I'm making Kash breakfast. Do you want some?"

" Hmmm,"  I laughed at him, shaking my head

I decided on toast, bacon, eggs, and some oats for myself.

It took me 25 minutes, and then I was done. As soon as I sat down to eat, Kash walked through the door coming over to kiss me, " Good morning, beautiful,"  and dap up Caleb.

" You ready, bro? I heard they got a new quarterback. He's really good, but he ain't better than me, so I'm not scared." He said, sitting next to me and eating what I made for him.

"Is it good? " I asked, laughing at the way he was almost done, and I got started before him.

"Always is," he responded, getting up to wash his dishes and mine.

I packed Caleb's breakfast in a zipper bag, seeing as he was too focused on the game to eat. And we all left in Kash's car heading to the school.

Kash and I did car--raoke while my brother was literally just lost in his phone. I guess he's worried about the game

We pulled into the parking lot of the school, and there were banners up, announcing the game, people making bets on who would win, random groups dancing, and music blasting. Caleb got out and went straight into the school, keeping his head down and  not even saying high to his teammates.

What's up with him.. I thought to myself.

I was so focused on Caleb I didn't realize Kash got out to open my door. I was about to step out when he stopped me, picking me up and putting me on the hood of his car.

" Your brother seems out of it today. What's up?"

' babe, I'm actually lost just like you. He's been like this all morning. Eyes stuck to his screen, and he hasn't spoken a word. He might be worried about the game,' I said, still worried.

" I'll try to speak to him," he said, kissing me and helping me down, going to the back to get our bags.

The halls were a buzz.

Every locker decorated with the team's colors, my cheer team already shouting out cheers without me. The team huddled at the end of the hall doing chants. Each player with their hand around the necks of their girlfriends. Even the professors were out in the halls having fun. All the celebrations made me forget that we still have classes today.

Then the bell rang.

Amidst the vibrant hallways of Grantley Adam's High, the morning routine unfolded like a familiar dance. Students scurried to their lockers, exchanging animated greetings as the hum of chatter filled the air. The scent of freshly brewed coffee wafted from the cafeteria, mingling with the faint aroma of textbooks.

As the bell rang again, signaling the start of first period, Kash and I hurried to class and took our seats in the back of  Mrs. Carter's English class. The seasoned teacher began her lecture on the intricacies of Shakespeare's "Hamlet," her voice carrying the weight of centuries-old wisdom. My mind wandered for a moment, my mind drifting towards the window. Outside, the lush greenery of the school garden beckoned, inviting her to me the confines of the classroom.

As the morning progressed, the hallways grew quieter. Students settled into their studies, their voices fading into a low murmur. Within the blink of an eye, the triple period was over.

But as the break bell rang, the tranquility of the school was shattered. The hallways erupted into a cacophony of noise as students surged towards the cafeteria. Laughter, gossip, and the clatter of trays filled the air, creating an atmosphere of vibrant chaos.
