Just as Adrastéa predicted a few hours later all the women in the town brought their dogs over to Peg's for a furcut Peg placed herself as crowd control and Adra stayed next to Edward who wanted her as his "assistant" and wouldn't let her leave his side and of course Arda's mother was her first customer and as Joyce was telling Edward how she wanted her pups hair Adra was giving Kisses all her attention and Kisses was loving it "don't you worry Kisses, Edward is very gentle!"  Adra whisperingly coos as she pets Kisses Edward smiles at her though he makes sure he is still listening to her mother who just wouldn't stop talking Adra looks up at Edward and asks "you ready!?"  he replies "I think so"  she takes a step back and kisses Edward's cheek he blushes with a smile Kisses takes a few steps towards Adra but stops when she sees her raise her hand palm up then lay it flat like it had bowed to her and the palm is now down and she sits Edward looks at the Yorkie then at the woman he loves who winks at him with a smile and he smiles then turns his attention back to the pup and starts to gently cut her hair once he finishes Joyce says as she reaches down and picks up Kisses "oh, Eddie, is there anything you can't do? you take my breath away I swear look at this"  Adra thinks to herself with a slightly teasing tone "pour Kisses!"  then she coos as she pets Kisses' mane "you're a lion now Kisses! you gotta roar instead of bark from now on!"  Kisses barks Adra chuckles then mutters under her breath "here we go!"  Edward looks at her curiously then he hears Joyce say into his ear "have you ever cut a womans hair?"  then hears her ask with a excited tone as she sets Kisses back down on the table "would you cut mine?"  and he begins to understand for Adra had predicted this "you got 20 bucks?!"  Adra asks her mother who looks at her oddly "I told Cissy if any of you women want your haircut by Edward it'll cost you 20 dollars, if you don't have the money you don't get a haircut and the other ladies who have been patiently waiting for you to shut up can have their turn with their pups cuts"  Adra tells her Joyce scoffs "I'm serious mother this was the offer made this is the offer that gets kept if you can't follow through you can leave and Kisses can stay!"  Adra says Edward nods telling Joyce that her daughter speaks the truth she takes out her purse and hands her daughter a 20 dollar bill "I don't know why we have to pay him!"  Joyce whines with a sigh in her tone "because it's the right thing to do! because he's wasting his time doing something he doesn't NEED to do but CHOOSES to do! this is HIS job not his LIFE and you all need to learn how to treat him better and with more respect than you have since you first met him ESPECIALLY YOU you disgusting pig!"  Adra replies Joyce gasps "would you have preferred I called you a whore!?!"  Adra asks Joyce's mouth gaps open in shock "Edward you pay attention to me not her as you cut her hair ok!?"  Adra says softly as she looks into Edward's eyes he nods with a smile Adra leads her mother over to one of the lawn chairs then pushes her down into it gently Edward walks over and stands behind the chair he gently places his scissorhands on the side of Joyce's neck and sees a strange and scary expression form on the womans face he gently moves her head to the side and becomes grateful for all the times Adra let him touch her for it helped him know just how close to get to her mothers skin and how to touch it in a way that wouldn't cut her he moves his hand and places his longest finger under her chin and gently moves her head again he places the blades of his other scissorhand under her chin and moves her head once more then leans her head back as gently as he could and he notices that the creepy expression he doesn't like has yet to leave her face as a matter of fact it just might have gotten worse he holds back a gag when he realizes she's aroused by what he's doing and though he doesn't like it he's a true professional and pays more attention to her hair than her body language which gets worse and worse with every motion she makes she even curls her toes at one point as he cuts her hair which he found really gross he wished he had listened to Adra but he needed to concentrate on what he was doing not the woman he loves who was now holding and petting Kisses with a smile on her face for even her attention wasn't on him but the pup in her arms and he knew why he knew she knew how her mother would react to everything he's doing right now once he was done Joyce cups her new hairstyle in her hands and whispers "that was the single most thrillin' experience of my whole life"  Adra says to Edward "I'll tell you what you do their hair I'll do the pups that way you won't tire your arms out too much"  Edward nods with a smile as she whispers under her breath "hopefully!"  she looks at Peg and says "could you please go get Edward something to drink!? he looks quite thirsty and don't forget the straw please"  Peg looks at her and nods with a smile then heads inside to do as she was asked "is everyone alright with the new plan!?"  Adra asks all the women who were waiting their turn and they all nod in agreement "ok then, let's get started"  and that's exactly what they did Edward did the women's hair and Adra did the pups Peg came out with a bottle of ice cold water that had a straw in it she figured that would be best so that hair hopefully doesn't fly/fall into his drink Edward thanked her once he got his first sip and she nods with a smile then takes a step back so that he could concentrate on his work everyone knew Adra made her own clothes for she hated her mothers taste in style when it came to what she bought for her daughter so they believed that her furcuts will be just as unique as their haircuts are going to be and they were right Adra even looked at Edward for approval when she finished and he always smiled and nodded at her choice in style which oddly enough matched their humans haircuts once the women of the town were done and had left Peg was next and as Edward worked on her haircut Adra raked up the leftover hair from the other women and this time Edward looked at Adra for approval when he was done since Peg didn't have a pup "she looks lovely Edward, what do you think Peggy!?"  Adra asks as she holds up a hand mirror so that Peg could see her new hairstyle "oh, it's just wonderful Edward thank you!"  Peg says as she looks at her reflection patting her hair as she does so Adra takes the small feather duster brush and cleans off Edward's scissorhands and he smiles softly at her as he watches her....
