Days passed, and Abdulahad's condition remained critical. Sheila spent every waking moment by his side, praying for his recovery.
One evening, as Sheila sat beside Abdulahad's hospital bed, Amira entered the room. "Sheila, I need to tell you something," Amira said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Sheila looked up, curious. "What is it, Amira?"
"Abdulahad had feelings for you," Amira revealed. "He became a totally different man after he met you. We would stay up all night trying to figure out ways he can make you fall for him, but I don't think it worked."
Sheila's heart skipped a beat. "I don't know what to say. I guess I've always tried to hide my true feelings from Abdulahad ever since he told me he liked me. I don't know why, but I was scared of loving him."
Amira's eyes filled with tears. "He was scared of losing Sheila. He tried his best to hide his feelings, but I've never seen him like this." She glanced at Abdulahad, who lay unconscious on the bed.
Sheila's gaze returned to Abdulahad, her feelings deepening. Just then, Abdulahad's hand twitched. Sheila grasped it, her heart racing. "Abdulahad?" she whispered.
His eyes flickered open, locking onto Sheila's. "Sheila?" he whispered back.
Tears of joy streamed down Sheila's face. "You're awake!"
Abdulahad's gaze never left hers. "I'm sorry," he whispered.
"For what?" Sheila asked.
Abdulahad's eyes closed, exhaustion taking over. "For not being able to protect you."
Sheila held his hand tighter. "You protect me every day, more than you know."
Abdulahad's eyes fluttered open again, his gaze locking onto Sheila's. "I'm here," Sheila whispered, her hand still grasping his.
Abdulahad's voice was barely audible. "I was scared... of losing you."
Sheila's heart swelled. "You'll never lose me, Abdulahad."
His eyes searched hers, filled with emotion. "I love you, Sheila," Abdulahad whispered.
Sheila's breath caught. "I love you too, Abdulahad."
Abdulahad's face relaxed, a peaceful smile spreading across his face. "You do?"
"Yes, I do," Sheila chuckled, blushing.
As the machines surrounding them beeped steadily, Sheila leaned in, her lips brushing against Abdulahad's. A soft, gentle kiss, filled with promise and love.
A cough from behind interrupted them. "Hey Abdulahad, how are you feeling?" Ahmed asked, holding a box and flowers.
Abdulahad replied sarcastically, "Hello married man, congratulations on your wedding. Sorry I couldn't make it; I was caught up in something."
Ahmed laughed at his joke.
A deep voice, almost identical to Abdulahad's, spoke up. "Sorry, I need to speak to my son."
The man was wearing a deep blue suit, he stood tall at least he should be six feet and 5 inches.
Sheila thought, "This man must be Abdulahad's father, the resemblance was too much to ignore."
As they stood outside the door, Ahmed turned to Sheila. "So you love him?"
Fatima intervened, "Don't do that here, be an adult for once."
Zarah whispered into Sheila's ear, "You don't need to answer him."
After what seemed like forever, Abdulahad's father allowed them to reenter.
The doctor entered the room, a look of surprise on his face. "Abdulahad, you're awake! You're on the road to recovery, you injury are not too serious but you will need at least two months to heal."
Sheila's heart soared. Abdulahad was going to be okay.
"Well I have a bride to attend to , byye abdulahad, get well soon man" ahmed says as he walks out the room.
As the doctor continued to examine Abdulahad, Sheila held his hand tight.
"Don't I need to be introduced , abdulahad father spoke up
"Oh sorry father, this is Sheila, eehmm my Girl... friend?,", abdulahad replied.
he didn't know a better way to introduce her. They are literally holding hands infront of him" Nide to meet you Sheila" abdulahad's father said
" Nice to meet you sir, Sheila replies with a bright smile.
It's been over two months since abdulahad recovery, his father had apologized to him and amend his ways, everything was going perfectly for abdulahad.
"Let's take a trip somewhere far," Abdulahad said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
They were in his room, Sheila sitting across from him, working on her computer. She had a very important assignment to finish, and Abdulahad was trying his best to get her attention.
Sheila smiled and turned her chair to face him. "And where would you want us to go, My Ahad?"
Abdulahad jumped off the bed, happy that he finally got her attention. "Well, I was thinking maybe Kaduna. There are lots of nice restaurants there, and the area is beautiful. I'll drive us there, and we'll stay at my aunt's house."
Sheila moved closer to him, her arm around his waist. "What about school?"
"After the exam," Abdulahad replied. "The holiday will be only two weeks, and I want to spend every moment with you."
Sheila agreed, and Abdulahad planted a kiss on her cheek.
Final Exam day arrived, and Sheila was excited about their trip.
Zarah said, "I'm so happy for you, Sheila."
The girls decided to have lunch after the final paper.
Fatima complained, "No chicken, only turkey! Imagine that rubbish. Why would I eat turkey with chips?"
Sheila teased, "One day, Fatima, all the chicken might disappear because of you, and what would you eat then?"
Fatima folded her arms, "I will eat vegetables and beef."
"What if it there is not vegetables and beef?" Sheila said
"I will eat you" Fatima teased
"I love you girls," Zarah said, holding both Sheila and Fatima's hands.
Sheila's eyes got watery. "Don't make me cry. I have to see Abdulahad in five minutes, and I don't want him to think something's wrong with me."
It took Sheila two hours to pack,
She told abdulahad it will only take an hour but there was so many clothes to wear and so many things to pack."On my way out" Sheila sent a text to abdulahad who had been waiting for an hour.
Abdulahad opened the car door for her and took her suit cases from her , "Ready, my love?, he asks as he closes the boot of his car.
Sheila exclaimed, "Let's go!"
They embarked on their journey to Kaduna, filled with laughter and anticipation.
As they drove, Abdulahad turned to Sheila, "I'm glad we're doing this."
Sheila smiled, "Me too."
