Phoebe and Katie laid entwined under the soft glow of early morning light, their breaths synchronized like a gentle melody. For the fourth night in a row Katie had stayed over, but Phoebe didn't mind one bit. The sun tiptoed through the blinds, casting a warm, dappled pattern across their intertwined limbs. Katie felt the gentle weight of Phoebe's body on top of her, her head on top of her chest, a comforting presence.

Katie's eyes blinked open, and she looked down at the peaceful expression on Phoebe's face. Her platinum blonde hair was a messy halo around her pretty face, which always made Katie smile. She gently traced a finger over the faint freckles scattered across Phoebe's nose and cheeks, and then ran her fingers through her hair. Phoebe's eyes then fluttered open, revealing those pools of brown that Katie loved. "Morning," Phoebe mumbled into Katie's chest, her voice still thick with sleep.

"Good morning," Katie murmured back. She wrapped her arms tighter around Phoebe, relishing the feeling of their bodies fitting together so perfectly. "Five more minutes, please?" Phoebe practically begged, her eyes still closed. Katie laughed softly, kissing the top of her head. 

"Alright, fine," she conceded, knowing she had to leave soon to help Naomi prepare for their date.

They laid there for a while longer, the quiet of the morning wrapping around them like a warm blanket. Phoebe's stomach gave a gentle rumble. "I guess we should get up," Katie said, sitting up and stretching. Phoebe groaned, but she couldn't resist the siren call of the caffeine. They made their way to the kitchen, their bare feet cold on the hardwood floor, and Katie started a pot of coffee while Phoebe rummaged through the fridge for something to make for breakfast. They settled on cereal and toast.

As Phoebe made the toast, Katie wrapped her arms around her from behind, kissing her neck gently. "Thank you for letting me stay over again," Katie said, her voice still groggy. "It's like we're an old married couple already," Phoebe teased, turning around to kiss her, a smile playing on her lips.

They sat on the couch, the crumbs of their toast scattered on the coffee table in front of them. The sound of birds chirping filled the room, a contrast to the quiet of the house. Katie glanced at the clock, realizing the time was slipping away. "I have to go help Naomi get ready for their date today," she said, her voice filled with a hint of reluctance. Phoebe nodded, understanding she needed to get ready. Katie went back upstairs to get dressed and get ready, while Phoebe cleared the dishes and made Katie a coffee, pouring it into a tumbler cup so it could keep her company.

When Katie descended the stairs, Phoebe handed her the coffee and gave her a warm smile. "Thanks," Katie murmured, taking a sip. The caffeine hit her system like a jolt of electricity, and she felt the fog of sleep begin to lift. They shared a tender kiss before Katie stepped out the door, leaving Phoebe to the quiet solitude of her house.

Phoebe got her dog Maxine ready for a walk. The cool breeze outside was a welcome change from the stuffy warmth of the house, and Maxine seemed equally excited to be outdoors. Phoebe put on one of her favorite songs "Illicit Affairs" by Taylor Swift, and the melody filled the quiet space. As they strolled down the familiar path, Maxine pulling at the leash to sniff every bush and tree, Phoebe felt a sense of calm wash over her. The next song on the playlist was "Apple Cider," by beabadobee, one of her good friends. This was one of those long walks with Maxine, so it lasted about an hour.
