Drowned Shadows || a krew fanfic

Prologue

A short woman stepped into a dark submarine. The entrance door shut with a loud clanging sound which startled the woman, and made her jump. As soon as contact between surface of the Forestdew company shore and lake broke, Rainbow was submerged in darkness and surrounded by water for hours to come. She was equipped with a diving tank, and a large, clear container. In her ear, a small black earpiece rested silently. 

Rainbow was the chosen employee from their corporation to go and find the crystal in a part submerged government building before the four other rival companies, especially Urbanshadow. Apparently Forestdew needed the crystal for further research on a project. 

The pink-haired female sunk slowly to the ground with a long sigh.  The three volunteers from the nearby prison were taken before two death rows. Unfortunately, Agent Rainbow's company hadn't gotten there earlier and taken them instead of forcing their most loyal worker into it. 

A few minutes later, the submarine was brought up to a metallic interior covered with crates. control panels, lockers and such. As intended to do, the door opened with another loud clang and lay itself on the edge of the railed flooring. Rainbow heaved herself up with a quiet groan and stumbled forward blindly, while rubbing her eyes. Static crackled in her right ear and the dripping ship closed and dove back underwater. 

"Hello Agent Rainbow, as discussed prior, your primary objective is to secure and bring back the crystal if-" the deep and serious voice paused hesitantly, "-when you find it." 

"Also make sure to secure any loose assets and use any additonal supplies you find." He added then to go on to explain the use of the diving tank and crystal container. As Rainbow already knew she would be alone for most of the time unless important in the moment as they were busy with 'other teams.'

"Based on gathered information, Agent Funneh, Lunar on behalf of Low Tide Corp, and Gold or previously Kim Whittle before she was arrested, should be there soon or already making their way through." Agent Gold used to work for Cavern Productions before being put in cuffs for vandalism on the company's watch. 

"Agent Rainbow, you must ensure that we get the crystal before the others." 

"Yes sir Angevine." replied Rainbow nervously. A desk with a bright lamp sat beside a locked door. A key card was required to open the door and luckily enough, one that read 001 remained on a small drawer opposite of a stack of crates that towered over her. When she crawled under them, her pink ponytail swung over her left shoulder. 

Once she dragged through the small space and stood on her two feet, she brushed off the dust that had collected on the knees of her dark green uniform. It read 'Betty Hawkins' on the back but it had been covered to say 'Rainbow'. 

Betty took a step and reached her arm out to grab the key. She worked back to the side where the door stayed and shoved it in the slim hole. It made a beeping sound and allowed the door to open. Rainbow gently put her hand on the knob and turned to push it open. She strolled in and her amber eyes skimmed over the room for anything important. Yet the only thing she found, were some documents she kept in her black purse with a silver chain.
