Magolor took off in a rush, leaving Marx to behold this metal contraption. Frozen in fear, he barely registered the fact that this thing was charging up some sort of laser, and he was its target.
"Marx?"
The hunking machine drew closer.
"MARX!"
It fired, and everything went white, and when the smoke cleared-
Magolor was standing there, hands up, holding out a barrier, a five pointed star, top point shattered.
"Magsie?"
"RUN!"
He didn't need to be told twice.
Taking off faster than he ever had before, he fled, down the hall, and towards the exit, Magolor right behind him.
"What is that thing!?"
"I-*huff*-don't know! Just shut up and run! FASTER!! IT'S GAINING ON US!!!"
So they kept running.
Eventually, they were at a dead end, with nowhere else to go, the only thing ahead was a steep cliff of steel.
"Marx?"
He looked over the edge.
"Marx!?"
"Hey, Mags?"
"Y-yes?"
"Can you fly?"
He turned in surprise, "What?!"
And with that, Marx jumped over the edge.
And spread his wings.
