AUTHOR'S POV
The air was thick with anticipation as Navratri approached, bringing with it the promise of festive nights, rhythmic Garba, and the chance to reconnect with friends in a swirl of colors and music. For Kiara, these nine nights of celebration were the highlight of the year. She had been eagerly waiting for Navratri, her favorite festival, and now it was only two days more. However, a slight wrinkle remained—she had to get her family's permission to attend the night Garba events, and her elder brother, wasn't always the easiest to convince.
She was sitting in her room resting on her bed as she took off today after felling a bit ill, As Kiara lay curled up on her bed, scrolling idly through her phone, it rang with a flood of messages from Ishu. She sighed, feeling a bit out of sorts but knew she couldn't ignore her best friend.
Ishu: Kiaraaaa! We need you to work some magic 🙏
Kiara: What now? 😂
Shivansh: Ishu's saying magic, but she means persuasion powers. 😅 You gotta convince your parents to let you enjoy for the last two days of Navratri fest in college.
Ishu: Exactly! And not just parents—apne maa baap ki badi aulaad ko bhi!! Tumhe toh pata hai, last two days are the most fun. The garba, dandiya, everything! We can't do it without you, Kiara!!
Kiara: Uff, yaar! My brother is the real hurdle. He's all "kaunsi late-night fest" and "don't roam around at night" types. You know how protective he is!
Advik: Arre toh tell him you'll have Shivansh and me with you. Pure security squad hai hum 😆
Shivansh: Yeah, Kiara, full protection. Aur waise bhi, you know you can trust us.
Ishu: Haan haan, bhai ko bhi samjha na yaar, bas do din ki toh baat hai! Tell him it's like a mini farewell for all the seniors too!
Kiara: You guys are acting like I can magically control him! I'll try, but don't get your hopes up. You know how my family is! 😬
Shivansh: Tumhe pata hai ki tum kar sakti ho, bas himmat chahiye! 😄* Plus, think about how epic these two nights will be. Look, Kiara, maybe if you tell him it's all safe, with friends and faculty around, he'll be okay with it? (warning : I don't wanna get another slap so don't involve this innocent child please) 😏
Kiara: Alright, alright, I'll give it my best shot! But if bhai says no, toh I'm out 😭. But I'll try tonight itself!
Ishu: That's the spirit!! Go Kiara! Aaj raat bhai ko maar daalo cuteness se 💃🏻
Shivansh: Fingers crossed 🤞 We're counting on you, Kiara! *Operation Convince Bhai* starts now. Wish you luck!
Advik: All the best, Kiara! Just don't say we're desperate or anything 😂
Kiara: I won't! 😆 But I'm feeling the pressure here! Will update soon!
Ishu: Good luck, girl! Hamare Navratri ki wajah tum ho 🥹 ❤️
Shivansh: You got this, Kiara! 🌟 ---
It was early evening when Kiara found her family gathered in the living room, drinking tea and chatting about the upcoming festivities. Her mom was sitting comfortably on the couch, her sister-in-law Shweta was making her young daughter Shivi do homework, and her brother Vihaan was flipping through the newspaper, his expression as serious as ever.
