We once sowed seeds
Seeds of hope and trust
Renewing the barren land underneathHidden between them grew weeds
No one seemed to notice
Until they grew tall and strong
Enough to destroy the beautiful plantsNow, the land that once blossomed
give us thorns
Thorns that prick and shatter every
bit of life nearby
Yet why is that we cease to realize
that we grow no orchard, but a forest of thorns.
