I pounced quickly, grabbing the shrieking chicken and killing it with a bite to the neck. It had been such an easy catch, I couldn't even believe it.
Well, no time to dawdle. I grabbed the rabbits I had left behind and took off quietly from the ground, heading home. As I arrived, I noticed my brother Blaze was already home. That dingbat with his bright orange scales and emerald eyes always seemed to think that he was better than me just because he could breathe fire. I decided to ignore him and swooped down to place the chicken and rabbits in the prey-hole.
"Greetings, Mother. Brother." I said quickly, noticing they had been arguing. "Ah, Attra!" My mother scampered over to me, grinning. "There you are. You've got dirt all over you! Why don't you eat?" I growled, embarassed. "No, Mother, I'm fine, promise." I shuffled away from my mom to look at the nest, noticing the last egg had hatched. I scanned the room, searching for my new sibling, and then I saw her.
