The moon shined on my as I sat in the grass, the wind blew at a steady pace. Gentle. Comforting. Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath in and out, I soon heard a growl. A low, deep growl echoed in my mind again as I opened my eyes.
Looking around the field I saw nothing. The stars twinkling in the stars gave me comfort, then that deep growl snapped me out of that comfort. It was coming from behind me and I'm too scared to turn around. I took a deep breath and faced my fear. I whipped my body around to be face with a jet black wolf. It's eyes electric grey eyes dipped into my soul.
That feeling of comfort wrapped around me again. I don't know what compelled me to do it, but I reached up and ran my fingers through it's fur. A deep rumble came from it and it's eyes closed with satisfaction, before I knew it my eyes closed too and I felt a soft rumble come from me.
My eyes shot open and my chest felt like it was caving in. What the fuck was that. I've never had a dream like that in my life. Chants, spells, spell books have been my supernatural dreams but never, nunca, a wolf.
Tara's feet approaching my door snapped me from my thoughts. She knocked first then entered. "Are you ok? I can hear you breathing hard,"
I stated at her for a second. Red silk pajamas shorts and a matching shirt contrasted her pale skin, long jet black hair brushed her waist. Jet black hair.
"What color is your wolf?" I whispered. She slammed my door shut and rushed onto my bed.
"Why?" Her eyes full of curiosity.
I put my fingers on her temple and closed my eyes. Liceat mihi, ut. A beautiful copper colored wolf appeared in front of me, bright green eyes welcomed me.
Tara slapped my hand away "I hate when you do that shit!" Her nostrils flared. "What the fuck was that for!?"
"I'm sorry, I-I just never had a dream about a wolf," I told her and her left eyebrow rose. "I know!"
"It's probably you're anxiety about being around my pack. Don't worry, I didn't know you were a witch until you said it. I still can't pick it up, your parents spell works," She got off of my bed and kissed my cheek. "Plus, you have time to do more witchy things to mask your scent,"
I laughed at her comment then got out of bed. "It's a good thing I'm up. I have a 12 hour drive and I might as well start now,"
"Uh, hell no! You should've told me you were driving home. I should've known," She stormed out of my room and I rolled my eyes, silently cursing myself.
No, I shouldn't have. Because all she's going to do is buy me a plane ticket and order me an uber to my parents house, like she's been doing for the last 3 years. No matter how many times I've begged her not to, she still did.
I took a quick shower, since I took one last night, and dressed comfortably for TSA since I already knew that she would come back in here with a ticket for me. As if on queue, she walks in with a completely different outfit on and her phone in hand.
"You are so lucky that there was one seat available for the next flight. Just login in the app and all the information is there for you," She plopped on to my bed. I checked the app and saw the flight information. My flight leaves in two hours.
"Girl! You're laying down when we have to go!" I slapped her thigh causing her to jump up. I grabbed my duffle bag and my purse then stared at her as she pouted.
"You're leaving me! And we haven't even ate breakfast yet," She whined. This is routine for us every break we get.
"You're the one that booked this flight!" I laughed as I followed her stomping out of the room. She grabbed her keys and her Gucci backpack purse then turned to me.
