The Story

During my childhood, I once had a weird dream, that somehow, I still remember.

..where I was standing in some kind of park.

Every surface there is grey and surrounded by wilting trees, except that there's one tree, different from the others. That leafless tree grew a massive orange!

Suddenly, there was a bee, approximately the size of a human head, came out of nowhere and took the orange. As the bee flew away with the fruit, I went to chase the bee, due to my unknown curiosity. While I was running, I somehow noticed that I could run swiftly. I guess it's possible for it to happen in my dream.

Promptly, on the pathway I was running, I spotted a lady, perhaps in the age of 20s, wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, smoking.

"Where are you going, kid?" she asked.

"Chasing a bee."

"That bee? Oh, kid, do you even know not to follow an unknown insect?" said the lady, as she blows out the smoke from her cigarette. It almost cover my entire face!

"I mean, the bee isn't a threat or anything." I replied.

"Kid, haven't you been warned about the bee?"

"... no?"

She warned me not to follow the bee, for there was once a kid who went missing while following the bee, and was never found ever again.

"There, now please. If you want to live, just-- keep your curiosity shut. Okay?"

The lady then walked away, leaving me standing on the pathway.

Despite the warning, I decided to follow the bee anyway. Luckily, the bee left a trail of yellow glitter on the pathway. I ran as fast as I could while following the glitter trail.

I ran, and ran, until...

Few moments later, I finally stopped in front of a golf ball supply centre. I went inside, and there were empty rack aisles with golf balls on the floor everywhere. I then spotted a big black hole in the middle of the centre, that's where the last glitter trail the bee left.

Because of my strong urge and curiosity, I jumped inside the black hole. After minutes of hole-dwelling, I found myself in an empty void, and there's the bee, sitting on the fruit.

I went towards the bee, and said hi.

Luckily, the bee's friendly and offered to share the orange with me. We ate the orange and the bee talked a bit about that grey world I found myself in.

"I lived there for quite a while. However, I somehow can't help but feel like an outcast, since everybody seemed to be unwelcoming and self-centred."

"I can see that. What do you want to do about it?"

"I don't know. But I think I can figure it out later. For now, there's flowers for me to pollinate."

As the bee was about to leave, it told me this;

"Remember, you're special, no matter what people think of you. I know you'll become a useful respected human someday at your world."

Also, the bee mentioned, " And about the boy, he tried to kill me, and I, well, sting him to a painful death."

"Wait, but you didn't die?!" I shockingly asked.

"Do you know, I'm a special kind of bee."

Then, the bee flew away from the void, and everything then turned to white.

I woke up from my dream, found myself on my cosy bed as my little self thought, "What was that about?"

Until today, that phenomenal dream remained untheorized. Despite that, I think I'll figure the meaning out someday.
