It was midnight, and the moon illuminated the sky brightly. The entire atmosphere was quiet, with the moon's light reflecting off a large palace, making the building look even more beautiful.
‘The Park’s Palace’ was written boldly on the palace's top tower, with a logo symbol "PP" in it. The logo plate itself exuded a royal vibe. There were 50 rooms allocated solely for the servants and maids to stay in, accompanied by billiards, a golf club, gymnastics training facilities, a theater, a basketball court, a swimming pool, an elevator on each floor, and luxurious sofas on each floor, all of it screaming RICH. Beyond the 50 rooms began the fifth floor, which housed the main living room, a large kitchen in the corner, and chefs specializing in various cuisines. A gothic-style staircase led from the fifth floor, with a luxurious bar on the sixth floor connected to a party hall and a casino. There was a Green Lounge designated for private meetings, and all rooms had WiFi connections. The next few floors were reserved for the family members, each with a living room, three master bedrooms with balconies, a study room, and a mini-bar.
The servants working for the palace were well-trained, and their children were educated in reputable schools and colleges, with generous scholarships provided by the Parks. To speak of the Parks in brief would be impossible.
Standing in the basement of the palace was a man dressed in a white shirt with four buttons undone, revealing his chest, and perfectly tailored black pants that accentuated his slim waist. Rings on his fingers gleamed under the moonlight as Nam-Min exhaled smoke into the air, facing a brown door. Memories flooded his mind, causing him to grip the door handle tightly. Shaking his head in frustration, he stubbed out his cigarette and angrily walked back upstairs.
“Jun-Su! Call Kim Arthur and tell that bastard to meet me ASAP. And don’t let anyone know about this meeting. Are we clear?” he commanded, his voice sharp.
Jun-Su nodded quickly, panic evident in his wide eyes as he fumbled for his phone. “Yes, of course, My Grace. I won’t say a word to anyone,” he assured, his voice trembling slightly.
Nam-Min paced the floor, his mind racing. Meeting with Kim Arthur was the only solution to get the answers he needed.
“Make it clear that I want this to be private. If anyone finds out, it could ruin everything,” he added, his frustration barely contained.
When Jun-Su returned, he looked slightly more composed. “I’ve arranged the meeting. He’ll be at The Green Lounge in an hour.”
Nam-Min nodded, a mixture of anticipation and dread filling him. “Good. Let’s get this over with.” Straightening himself up, he prepared to face whatever Kim had to say, resolute not to let himself be manipulated any longer.
Nam-Min sat alone in the Green Lounge, the dim light casting shadows across his sharp features. A glass of whiskey rested in his right hand, while a cigarette smoldered between his fingers on the left. In front of him was a chessboard, where he was engaged in a solitary game, playing both sides. Nam-Min exhaled smoke, focused on the next possible move on the chess board, but his blue eyes flashing in irritation as the door creaked open, interrupting his game. He rolled his eyes and stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray nearby when he saw Jun-Su stepping in.
