MY FATHER'S STRENGTH : MY KING
(ALHAJI BASHIR MUSA HAFIZ)
In the vast tapestry of my life, my father stands as a towering figure, a king not crowned by jewels, but by the nobility of his heart and the strength of his character. In the world of Islam, a father's role is sacred a protector, a provider, and the spiritual leader of the household. My father embraced this role with a grace that made him not only the king of our home, but the guardian of our souls. He was my shield, my compass, and my guide, forever anchoring us with his unshakable faith in Allah.
His strength was not loud or overpowering; it was steady and sure, like the unmovable mountains that silently witness the world. He was the kind of man whose presence alone brought peace and whose silence held more wisdom than words ever could. Even in the darkest of moments, his belief in Allah's plan never wavered. "Trust in Allah," he would say, "and know that He never burdens a soul beyond what it can bear." These words weren't just advice; they were the pillars upon which he built his life, a foundation of faith that supported all of us.
My father's strength was the strength of a king whose kingdom was not made of castles, but of love, sacrifice, and devotion. He ruled his home with the qualities that every leader should possess: justice, mercy, and humility. When we looked to him for guidance, he didn't just give us answers—he gave us direction, lighting the path of our lives with the teachings of the Qur'an and the Sunnah. In him, I saw the embodiment of sabr (patience), a man who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders yet never faltered, never complained.
When my mother returned to Allah, it was as if the sun had set on our world. The sorrow was overwhelming, yet my father remained our guiding light. He did not let grief consume him, nor did he allow it to consume us. With tears in his eyes, he held us close and reminded us that death is but a passage to the eternal life promised by Allah. He told us to remember our mother in dua, to honor her memory by living good lives, and to seek comfort in the promise of reunion in Jannah, insha'Allah.
In those moments, my father became more than just a king—he became a beacon of strength, illuminating our path through the darkest night. His resilience was like the steady flame of a lantern, flickering but never extinguished, always lighting the way back to faith. He was the heart of our family, and through his example, I learned that true kingship is not about power, but about service to others.
His actions spoke louder than words ever could. He wasn't just a man who provided for his family; he nurtured us, teaching us to lean on our deen (faith) and to hold fast to the rope of Allah in times of trial. When the weight of life became too heavy, my father reminded us to lift our hands in prayer, for that is where true strength lies—in our connection to the Almighty. His dua was his armor, and his trust in Allah was his sword.
To me, my father will forever be the king who ruled with his heart, a man whose strength lay not in might, but in mercy. He wasn't just the king of our home he was the king of my heart. His love was a fortress, his wisdom a treasure, and his faith the crown that adorned his noble head.
Even now, as I walk through life, I carry his teachings with me like jewels in a crown. Every challenge I face, I hear his voice whispering: "Be strong, my child. Trust in Allah, for He is with those who are patient." And with those words, I find the strength to keep going, knowing that my father's legacy of faith, love, and strength will forever live on in me.
THE KING OF HUSBANDS: MY FATHER'S DEVOTION TO. MY MOTHER
In the Quran, Allah says, "And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, in that are signs for a people who give thought." (Surah Ar-Rum, 30:21). My father embodied this ayah in every aspect of his relationship with my mother. He was not just a husband; he was her protector, her companion, her king.
