Yakashi's Point of View

The nurse called my name, and as she carefully finished bandaging the small creature, I watched her gentle hands work. "There you go, little buddy," she cooed softly, patting the creature's head. It gave a faint nod, though it still looked frail and unsteady. I stepped forward and gave the nurse a brief nod of appreciation. "Thank you," I told her quietly, and then I gathered the small being into my arms, holding it gently as I left the hospital.

Outside, I walked along a winding path back to where I had first found it. I lowered myself to the ground, letting the creature settle into the grass. "Alright, little one," I murmured with a soft smile. "Since you're all healed up now, you can go back into the woods, be free with your friends again." I rose to leave, but before I could take a step, the creature scrambled back to me, clinging to my arm as if its very existence depended on it. Its tiny body trembled, and it looked up at me with wide, glistening black eyes.

I tilted my head in mild confusion. "What's wrong?" I asked gently, trying to keep my voice soothing. "Phan," it cried, clutching my wrist tightly. I sighed, half-exasperated, half-amused. "I think you should let go," I urged softly, unsure why it was so insistent on staying with me. "I already brought you to a doctor. Is there something else you need?"

A voice suddenly cut through the quiet. "It wants to stay by your side."

I turned to see a young man with green hair and a simple cap, his gaze steady and observant. "And you are?" I asked, my tone cautious. "How do you know that?"

"My name's not important," he replied with a shrug. "And it's obvious. Pokémon tend to form bonds with people who care for them." He let out a small chuckle, as if I should have known this all along.

"Bonds?" I echoed, genuinely puzzled. "All I did was take it to the doctor."

The man raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "Seems like you don't get it. Not everyone would bother to help a Pokémon in trouble, especially if they have no use for it. Kindness isn't as common as you might think."

I pondered this, nodding slowly. "You mean... some people would just use them as tools or weapons?"

He smiled and gave a slow clap, his eyes flashing with something like respect. "Exactly. A lot of people do just that. But clearly, you don't."

I considered his words, but before I could respond, he asked, "Do you not want it with you?"

I paused, feeling an unfamiliar uncertainty settle over me. "How...?"

He stared at me in a mix of disbelief and mild pity. "How do you not know?"

I exhaled, evading his question. "Let's just say I'm keeping that to myself."

"Fair enough." He turned back to the creature still clutching my wrist. "Do you want to stay with him, little one?"

"Phan!" it cried, nodding vigorously. He then reached into his pocket, pulling out a small red-and-white sphere. "Here," he said, tossing it to me. "That's a Pokéball. If it wants to be your partner, it'll enter the ball willingly, and you'll know you're meant to be together."

I looked at the Pokéball in my hand, intrigued. "Thanks, but... I didn't catch your name?"

"You can call me N," he replied with a slight smirk.

"Then thank you, N." I carefully set the Pokéball down, watching as the little creature eagerly entered it. A soft red glow engulfed it, and three quiet beeps confirmed that it was now, in some odd way, my partner. When I looked up, N was gone. Just like that.

Zekuto's Point of View

"Woah, calm down!" I shouted, barely dodging another swipe. The creature's attacks were relentless, and I could feel my stamina draining faster than it should have. I hadn't felt like this since I was a kid, and it was unsettling. "I don't want to hurt you, so let's just call it quits, alright?" I panted, finally noticing how heavily I was breathing. One moment of distraction nearly got me hit, and I barely ducked in time.
