CHAPTER 5: News

The Next Morning

Stella: "Ahhhhhh!"

Bella woke up abruptly, feeling shaken by a nightmare in which something bad happened to her sister.

Bella: "What time is it? That nightmare was... so vivid."
(she said, still trembling)

She prayed about her nightmare and went to her sister's room, only to find it empty.

Bella: "Ate? Ate? Where is she? It's still early..."

Just then, Stella's advisor called, and Bella's scream filled the room as she collapsed, crying. She ran to the school and found her sister's lifeless body, stabbed in the back.

CHAPTER 6: Grief

Two weeks passed, but Bella couldn't accept what happened to her sister. The police investigated, but they still didn't know who was responsible. They were sure, however, that Stella's death was not an accident; she had been stabbed and pushed, leading to her tragic fall.

Stella was buried, but Bella vowed to seek justice.

Returning to school, Bella tried to catch up with her studies after missing classes due to Stella's funeral.

Bella: "Good morning, Ma'am. Good morning, everyone. I'm sorry I'm late."

Teacher: "Oh... hello, Bella. I'm glad you're back, anak."

Bella sat down, and her sister's friend, Kai, approached her with concern.

Kai: "Hello, Bella. I hope you're doing okay. I'm always here for you."

Bella: "Thank you, Kai. Don't worry, I'm alright."

Bella and Kai talked for a while until recess. Bella went to the restroom to fix herself up. While looking in the mirror, she heard someone crying. A few seconds later, it stopped, and Carol, who had been crying, emerged.

Bella: "Uh... hi, Carol. I heard you crying... I hope you're okay."

Carol: "Grabe ha, ano... your sister's dead, and now you're following in her footsteps as a gossip? Mana-mana lang talaga?"

Bella: "How dare you, Carol? How dare you bring my sister into this?"

Carol laughed and walked away, intentionally bumping into Bella. Bella couldn't hold back and grabbed her hair. They started fighting until they were separated and both called to the principal's office. Their punishment was two days of community service after class.

CHAPTER 7: Community Service

After Class

Bella and Carol began cleaning the school as part of their punishment. A few minutes later, Bella saw Kai and Carol talking, which confused her since they used to be enemies.

Bella snuck closer to listen.

Kai: "I can't take this anymore. The guilt is eating me alive."

Carol: "What are you talking about? Are you stupid? Stop it. We already agreed on this. Isn't the money I gave you enough? Just say the word."

Kai: "Here it is."
(hands over something)

Carol: "Why do you still have it? I told you to throw it away or burn it."

Bella was shocked by what she overheard between the two. She saw that Kai handed Carol a necklace that looked strangely familiar. She hurriedly finished her chores, left the school, and went home, deeply unsettled by what she had heard.
