The lights flickered on and off, as a single cell door opened itself in a slow manner. A silent creak emitted from the door, followed by footsteps. A young girl at the age of 16, wore simple clothing as her features were revealed by the dimmed light of the hallways.
Her modest dress flows from top to bottom and has a court neckline, which harmoniously reveals the relatively simple dress worn below it. The flowing, buttoned up fabric of her dress covers her stomach where the continuous flow is broken up by a small cloth belt worn quite low around her waist. Below the cloth belt the dress opens up left and right and reveals but another dress below. The front of the top dress is shorter at the front and flows straight down, the back continues to flow a small length behind her and ends in a narrow curve. Her sleeves are longer than her arms and a comfortable fit, their flow is broken up at the elbow where they're divided by thin, refined bands, these are the same fabric and color used to outline the sleeves, bottom and neckline of the dress.
Turning a corner, she came to a halt as a cage suddenly clamped around her. 'Lets get this over with.' She thought to herself simply as she wanted to go back to sleeping in her cell having nothing but her thoughts and cell food. "Good morning, Galen!" A man's voice spoke up as the lights shuttered to emit rays of light upon Galen.
*First Person POV*
I gave the man named, Albanus Vedrix, a cold stare as Galen was not my real name. It was merely something he called me. It meant insane in another language, is all I really paid attention to.
Clicking my shoes gently I dipped my head as this was something I had to do unless I wanted to have shreds of gold thrown at me. Something that weakens me as a shapeshifter half breed. My mother was a shapeshifter and my father was human so, you know; Mom turned around the corner, bang, bang. Children popped out.
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted as a violent outburst of yelling was heard. This was my next match up, you see. This facility is to breed hybrids like myself, considering hybrids have a slight defect. My subspecies has full ability to shift, it's just that gold (something that's considered 'unchangeable') burns our skin into third degree burns. Honestly it hurts like hell, I'm telling you. But that's not why they want to breed us so bad.
"Welcome Jason to the Golden Gate Correction Facility. You have been selected to procreate with a hybrid shapeshifter." A woman's voice that sounded robotic boomed throughout the large room. "Now, you will be given a choice." She paused for a moment and I mildly flickered my finger to go along with her wording. "Either die or procreate." Heh, straight and simple, right? I've had 2, 'chosen' boys so far and they all chose to die. Mostly because when I knew them they were a bunch of jackasses and we all bickered.
Looking down, I scanned over the boy's clothing to find what was once a shirt is now nothing more than a collection of dirt, loose pieces of fabric and holes, only barely able to hang from his shoulders like a discarded old towel. Part of the bottom have been torn off and the sleeves are worn away, leaving much of him exposed to the elements. He's wearing a worn out poncho over his shirt. It's in a fairly good condition, apart from the tears and stains, but at least it helps him stay protected, even if only for a little. His pants have seen better times as well. There are holes all over the right side and what's left is covered in stains. But at least he has shoes to protect his feet. Although they're broken, only just the right size and the left toe-box has come loose from the sole.
But as soon as I looked at his face, everything inside of me shuddered for I knew who this was. Placing my hands delicately on the bars of my cage, I looked to him carefully looking over his features to find his gaze was fixated on me. I held my hands together as I felt a sudden surge go through me, it was extremely strange but somehow I now felt the need to just stand near him, of which was weird for me because I typically hate humans or shapeshifters.
Releasing a sigh, Jason looked away and pointed in my direction seeming to be fighting to go with this decision, "I'll go with her." His voice sent shivers down my spine as I stepped to the back of the cage. "Shit... I think I imprinted on this kid!" Is what ran through my mind over and over again. This surge came to an end as they grabbed him by the arm roughly.
I heard as a tremendous roar rang throughout the room and made the cage bars shake. I then came to realize they all stared at me. Looking down, I saw a set of talons beginning to form. "Get the serum, quick!" Albanus called loudly. The serum was something that actually stopped shapeshifters from turning into anything else. I felt as everything began to shift, snapping and realigning. It really wasn't painful after many years of doing such, it actually felt nice.
Feeling as my wings fully expanded and teeth sharpened, the cage could no longer hold my size and snapped apart. Hearing a minor click, I suddenly felt as something stuck into my thigh. Lowering my head and bending over, I noted the serum was injected in me, "Great job, now good luck bringing me down, boys." I chuckled as an Irish hue laced my accent. They're certainly not going to make it out of this one unscathed.
