The Snowy Thicket was quieter than usual, the fresh crunch of snow under your boots the only sound between you and the Banished Knight as he walked beside you. His armor gleamed faintly in the soft light, though it still bore the scratches of countless battles.

You glanced up at him, catching the faintest glimpse of his face beneath the visor—a sharp jawline, pale blue skin, and eyes that betrayed a deeper soul than his stern demeanor would suggest.

"Why do you always come back here?" you asked, your voice cutting through the silence.

The knight paused, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "This place... it's where I failed," he replied, his voice deep and steady. "But you already know that."

"I know that staying here doesn't mean you failed forever," you said, stepping closer. "It means you're trying."

Terry groaned, throwing his flippers in the air. "THIS IS RIDICULOUS. NEXT THING I KNOW, THE CRUEL KING WILL BE HANDING OUT WEDDING INVITATIONS!"

The Banished Knight raised a brow at you. "Wedding invitations?" he murmured, the faintest hint of amusement in his tone.

"Don't get ahead of yourself," you replied with a laugh, though your cheeks felt warmer than usual.

As Terry waddled off, still grumbling about how "THE WORLD DOESN'T MAKE SENSE ANYMORE," you turned back to the Banished Knight, a grin tugging at your lips.

"Worth it?" he asked.

"Absolutely," you said, resting your hand on his
