Riki ended up a little too tipsy for his own good. Feeling Sunghoon staring at him so intently got on his nerve, and to try and forget about it, he drank*.
He ended up with his forehead against the table, his face all red and buried in his arms.
Everyone else was having too much fun to really care, knowing he rarely drank unreasonably.
Everyone else, except Sunghoon.
"Hey, Riki, you should drink some water," advised Sunghoon, handing him a glass of water.
Riki felt Sunghoon's hand on his shoulder and heard the sound of his voice. It was enough to set him up. He straightened up brusquely and smacked away Sunghoon's hand and his glass of water, spilling it all over himself and Sunghoon, shouting,
"Fuck! Don't touch me! I'm not drinking water!"
Sunghoon gasped, and everyone turned towards the commotion, surprised.
"Hey! Riki! Stop being a jackass! Drink this and apologize to Sunghoon!" shouted Jay who saw what happened.
Riki obediently took the glass of water Jay was handing him, and drank the water, as instructed. He cooled down a little and without even looking at him, he mumbled a half-assed apology to Sunghoon.
"I'm going to the bathroom to dry-up," breathed Riki.
"Ah! I'm coming too!" said Sunghoon, jumping on his feet to follow along.
Riki then proceeded to royally ignore him all the way to the bathroom.
The bathrooms were unfortunately empty, so the two boys ended up alone again, drying their shirt under the hand dryers in an awkward silence.
Riki then used a stall, hoping Sunghoon would just disappear in the meantime, but when he went to wash his hands, Sunghoon was still there, trying to dry his pants along with his shirt.
While his hands were under the tap, Riki heard the hand dryer stop and felt Sunghoon approach him.
"Hey," he called.
Riki didn't miss the opportunity to act as annoyed as possible and slowly turned to him, asking,
"What?"
"You know, until recently, I thought you being mean and rude to me was just your way of being friendly, but it seems like you actually really hate me." Riki stayed silent. "Why is that?"
"Do I need a reason?"
"So you really do? And for no reason?"
"Sometimes, people don't get along."
Sunghoon stared, mute. Then, he crossed his arms, thinking,
"Well...I'd think we should get along. We have so many friends in common, we can't possibly be this incompatible!"
Riki fake laughed and shook his head.
"You won't let this go, won't you?" He sighed. "You're surprisingly discerning... You're right, there is a good reason."
Sunghoon picked up his ears, leaning towards Riki to listen.Riki leaned forward in turn and whispered,
"You probably thought I'd never find out, but I know that back in high school you went behind my back, talked shit about me to my then girlfriend, and then took her from me."
Sunghoon froze. Riki straightened up and moved away.
"Her name was Felicity, I'm sure you remember her." Sunghoon stayed shut, so Riki tsked. "You may think this is childish, but I can't help it. First impressions die hard after all."
And on this note, Riki left the bathroom, not wanting to hear any excuses Sunghoon could have cooked up.
