Chapter six:Crazy

*Lucas*
"Hey pretty,how you doing?" I asked immediately she picked up
"I'm fine hbu" she replied and asked back
"I'm great what you doing?" I ask relaxing a bit in the uncomfortable office chair
"Working. How's work?"
"Stressful, stupid. I hate it here"
"But you still go there each day"
I sigh "Not like I have a choice"
"You know,you shouldn't be calling me during working hours right?" She asks
"Why not?" I whine
"Well, let's say my boss is a wicked old hag" she lets out and laugh
I laugh too "I hope the hag doesn't come after us at night" I joke along
"Us? No I'm innocent.Pray she doesn't come after you at night. I read somewhere that hags hate grumpy people and you know what that means" she said dramatically and we burst out laughing "I see what you tryna do there" I manage to say in between our laughter
Then there's a knock on the door
"Can I call you later? I've got to go now except you want me to loose my job"
"Run along office rat" she said and ends the call and I smile and "come in" I say
"Sir,Mr Tyson said to hand these to you to look into" Lily said part way into my office
"Leave that on my desk" I say and turn around in my office chair only to catch a glimpse of Lily walking out
"Damn you Mr Tyson" I cursed my dad under my breath after Lily was out and I go through the documents hoping not to screw this up too
He knows I screw things up always yet he wouldn't stop asking me to do stuff
What a man!
I close the documents and decide go through it later since I couldn't get over the thoughts of Emily that kept creeping into my head.
It's been a week since we went on our first date and throughout this week I've felt so good like I've literally never felt better for a while now.
Emily and I are still getting to know each other better but for this past week I've learnt that
She likes to dance but knows nothing about dancing
She prefers iced coffee to hot coffee likeee who on earth prefers iced coffee to hot coffee well meet Emily
For a pet she'd choose a cat she hates dogs,I love dogs.
She has a pet cat called blair
She has a thing for burgers and cake.
She prefers movies to music, I'm about to change that trust me.
Just like me she doesn't take alcohol but for different reasons tho.
Her's is because she thinks alcoholic drinks are bitter,she hates bitter stuffs,mine is because i don't want any reoccurrence of past scenarios especially not now.
She's allergic to fish.
And she loves her best friend
But just like me she has never brought up anything about her family in the few times we've met up this week and the long calls we've had and I sometimes wonder why.
I've known lots of things about her except her family story and her full name.
In just this week of getting to know Emily, I've seen past her stubbornness and tbt she's a really nice person,very fun to be with,cracks a lot of funny jokes, Always has something to talk about and her smile could send you to heaven.
What I love about her?
EVERYTHING!
I love the way her hair falls back on her back when she jumps in excitement.
I love the way she smiles and her eyes glow up
I love the way she laughs whole heartedly
I love how innocent she looks while concentrating on her book
And the way her face brightens up with a warm smile each time she sees me walking towards her.
I love her!.
Is that too much?
I think so
C'mon Lucas you barely just met you can't possibly be in love with her already
But I think I am
Okay I think that's enough fantasizing about Emily.
I should check this out before my dad disowns me
Sometimes I wonder why he still hasn't for real.

"Lucas!" I heard a little voice call after me
Hey,I know that voice
"Luce" I said as I turned around to see my little niece along side my sister
"I missed you" she said while giggling as she engulfed me in a hug, I bent down to come face to face with her and hugged her smallish body she smelled like peace...
"I missed you soo my little princess" I say
"Sounds like nobody missed me after all" My sister whined and Luce and I burst out laughing
"Hey Tessy" I say after breaking our lil hug
"How you doing baby brother?"
"I'm fine but I'm not a kid anymore you don't have to call me that" I whine knowing fully well she wouldn't stop still
"How's your husband,John"
"He's fine, he's at the balcony with dad" she replied
"It's been so long since you came over,why Lucas why?"Luce nagged but she was right
It's been so long since I last visited Oakland
"Lucas is busy with work thought I already told you Luce"Tess explains before I could even say a word
"Yes Luce, your mom is right. I'm usually very very busy most times"
"That's sad"Luce replied with a sad look on her face
"Hey baby don't be sad I promise I'm gonna create time and come visit okay?"
"Okay" Luce's face brightens up a bit
"C'mon I got a little something for you " I say grabbing Luce's hand as we start heading to my room
"Oh I see nobody's got anything for me I'm not jealous" Tess says dramatically behind us "grow up Tess" I yell back over the crowd as she walks over to greet a group of men in suits who I assume are dad's business partners.
The down floor of the mansion is already filled up with mostly men and women in suits chattering and chatting.
No no not the kinda chats you're thinking about
Boring office chats.
Very boring yet they were all simingly so caught up in their chats.
Did I forget to mention, Today is a special day as Mr Tyson said.
Today Mr Tyson is having a party to celebrate the Tyson's company's 10th anniversary.
To celebrate his success.
And brag about everything he's achieved as usual.
"Yes!" Luce yelled as she jumped on the my bed
I take off the uncomfortable suit jacket my dad had gave me to wear cause according to him he doesn't want me to humiliate him in front of all his colleagues
I go to my mirror drawer after locking my door and bring out a doll Luce had told me she liked the last time she came over and I decided to get it for her after hearing they were coming over soon.
"Guess what I got you Luce" I say clumsily hiding the doll behind me
"An elephant? The sun? A rainbow?" She guesses as she giggles
"Luce you know I'd get all those and more for you if I could"
"Lucas! Wait! Is it what I think it is?" Her eyes widened at the thought of it
"You bet it is" I say revealing the doll
"No way! Yeaaaaa yes! Finally" I watch the little 8 year old run around as she yelled in excitement
"Thank you Lucas" she says as she gives me a big hug
"Can't wait to be back home, I'm gonna show all my friends whose the coolest kid in school now" Luce ran around in excitement as she swung her doll up above her head
"I can see you like it Luce" I say with a smile
"Like it?, I love it!" She says in excitement
"I'm glad you do.Come on, come tell me, how's school been going?"
I ask and that's all it takes for Luce to tell me all that's been going on with her in school.
"I used to have friends but Camilla my classmate stole all my fame and friends,but guess what Lucas" Luce says and stands in front of me dramatically
"Imma get all my friends back with this" she says and raises her toy up immitating the black Americans accent
And we both laugh as I admire this little kid in front of me.
I love her.
The peace she brings me, I enjoy talking to her,her innocent smile warms my soul just like Emily's.
Oh shit Emily!
I was supposed to call her back and I forgot totally I immediately look around for my phone and I grab it once sighted.
I check if it's past her closing time
It's 7:30pm last I check she closes by 6pm
I start calling, it rings and rings and rings
"Pick up Emily pick up please"I whisper
"Who's Emily?"Luce asks
"C'mon there's someone I want you to meet" I say immediately Emily picks up and Luce runs to my side
"Hey grumpy" I heard Emily say in her tiny voice across the line
"Hey uhm could you like switch to video call, there's someone really special..." I couldn't even finish before Luce cuts in and added "and really really close to his heart that he wants you to meet" and we all laughed
"Hey" her  face brightened up with a smile immediately she switched to video call
I look around to find out she's in her car but not driving yet
"Still at work?"I ask
"Yeah, we had lots to do today so we closed pretty late  but I was about going home before you called" she replied looking stranded
"Where's Charl?" I ask
"She has a date as usual" and we both laugh
"Yeah so uhm Emily,Luce,my little niece" I begin introduction as I tilt the camera a little so Luce was properly visible to Emily
"I'm not little Lucas" Luce adds and Emily and I laugh
"Oh my bad,I meant to say meet my pretty big world best niece Luce"
"Better" Luce said in contentment
"And Luce meet Emily my pretty good friend" I add
"Hey Luce, it's so nice to meet"
"It's nice to meet you too Emily and I must say you're really pretty"
"Ikr" I add
"Thank you so much Luce" Emily says as I notice her cheeks turn tomato red
"So what y'all up to"Emily asks relaxing in the driver's seat in her car
"Yeah so um my dad has a party going on downstairs, it's like a business party or something you know. My mom My brother and sister are all downstairs enjoying the party. Don't get me wrong I love parties but hey a business party that's so boring" I try to explain
"So Luce and I are just chilling in my room"
"And he gifted me this really cool doll"Luce says showing Emily her new doll through the camera "cool right?" Luce asks
"It sure is, so cool. You're the second coolest kid I know now" Emily jokes
"Hey, who's the first, I should be the first I am the first" Luce nags
And we laugh
"Come in" I say after hearing a knock on my door.
"Good day sir. Luce your mom asked me to get you" one of our long time servants Rose says as she walks in.
"C'mon Luce go on"I say and Luce pecks me and walks out with the servant
"Could you go home a bit late today" I ask Luce who's still on the line
"Yeah, I could manage tho I'm a bit stressed out from work. Why?"
"I have an idea".

I'm close to the mansion's gate waiting for Luce
Since Mr Tyson instructed the security personnels to make sure none of the cars goes out through the gate before the party ends and to keep an eye specifically on me.
The plan is for Emily to bring her car over to the mansion's gate and I sneak out so we could go somewhere fun.
"I've arrived the destination over" Emily says dramatically over the phone "Don't turn off your engines and be ready.Be ready! Over" I say
"Wait what?" Emily asks confused
"Trust me" I say and put my phone in my pockets as I walk gently over to the security men and I sight Emily's old toyato outside the mansion's gate
"Hey Sam"I say dramatically
"Oh no you don't" Sam,one of the security personnels replies almost knowing what I'm up to
"Chill,just came to say hi" I lie and Sam relaxes a bit in his security chair or whatever
Sam's the serious one,I mean all the others are asleep but Sam makes sure to get his job done
Sometimes
For times like these I wish he was as unserious as the rest
Once I see Sam's a bit chill and I'm not all that far from the gate I decide to shoot my shot.
I run.
And run as fast as ever.
"Hey hey Lucas get back here, get back here" Sam called after me running after me but Sam's a bit old so I run way faster than he could
"Hey, stop wait there!"Sam yells and I'm outside the gate as I run towards Emily's car "go go go go" I say once I'm in the passengers seat and she starts driving off instantly as Sam and two others who recently just woke up chase behind us with their feet before they got tired and Emily drives farther eventually we loose them and Emily comes to a stop as soon as we're far enough from my house and we both laugh "you're crazy, you're definitely crazy, why didn't you tell me the entire plan" Emily says in between laughter
"Well cause I knew you'd chicken out if I did" I reply trying to catch my breath after being exhausted from running
"What if we were caught?"
"Well princess, we weren't" I say dramatically
"You you are so crazy"Emily says as she points at me and laughs
"Next stop?" Emily asks
"Next stop, Beach boulevard club but this time I'll do the driving" I reply as we switch seats in her car and once I'm in the driver's seat "I'm gonna show you how it's done" and with that we drive off to have some fun.
We both deserve it.
And I'm so glad we're doing this together>>>>
