Why do I miss you?

Five years later (it has been five years since Aurelio and Xylia were separated)

Aurelio is a thirty seven year old man now. His father died just three days ago and now all the power belongs to him. He is still married to Maria and is counting days until he divorces her. He has tried to look for Xylia but he hasn't managed to find her. Little does he know that Xylia now lives in Sicily 865 miles away from Milan. Sicily has its own mafia family, the Marconi's. Even though he is married to a Marconi he doesn't have the ultimate control in some Sicilian territories.

It has been a year and the man whom Alexander had appointed as the protector and spy he got lost out of nowhere. And at that time Xylia was living in Athens. Now that she moved to Sicily  without Alexander or anyone knowing he had no clue anymore about her whereabouts.

Whenever they would try to look through the databases of the country they wouldn't find Xylia at all. It was quite suspicious to Alexander that her data was on the database a few years ago then why isn't it available anymore?
It was very concerning. And given the fact that the Italians and Russians are at the brink of war it wasn't a very good thing that Xylia and her daughter's data was nowhere to be found.

Alexander sat confused thinking of the possibilities as he sat at the seat adjacent to Aurelio in the private jet. They were going to Sicily for getting a divorce and cutting off ties with the Marconi Family.

Alexander knew he couldn't hide this anymore because god forbid if anything happened to Xylia things were going to get dirty because he and everyone else knew, that Aurelio could burn the entire world for her.

It had been five years, two months, seven days since he last saw his little firefly. In this time period she never failed in occupying his mind. In these five years he has been burning and now it was finally time to extinguish this burning fire.

"Alexander."

"Aurelio."

They called each other at the same time.

Alexander was nearly sweating. There were too many wrong things possible in the mafia. And it was wearing him down. Especially now that Xylia had a daughter.

"Yes Alexander what is it that you want to tell me? Do you think I not know that there is something that you're hiding from me?" Aurelio said blankly but a hit of danger in his voice.

Alexander couldn't hide it anymore.

"Aurelio I am going to tell you something. You may choose to kill me afterwards and I'd be fine with that but you need to know before it's too late."

Aurelio loosened up his tie and his jaw clenched tightly. Suddenly all the oxygen in the plane depleted. Both men couldn't breath.

"Aurelio Xylia-" he said then he took the deepest breath possible and continued,

"Xylia was pregnant when you married Maria."

On hearing the name he longed for he stiffened and when he heard what Alexander told him he lost his fucking mind. She was pregnant with his child.

"Xylia was supposed to give you a surprise when you went to her apartment the last time. She was a month along or so at that point but your father was about to kill her if you didn't marry Maria. She waited for you for way too long until her parents found out she was pregnant. They forcefully got her married to a man named Lorenzo Rosso to avoid the shame that Xylia got pregnant out of wedlock. Nine months later. . . She gave birth. To Giovanna Arellano Morosini. Your daughter. Remember when you told me to look after her  and report to you, I lied. I lied because your father threatened to kill all my family and you know better the things a man would do to protect his family. I didn't tell you man and I know I am a motherfucker for that. I had a man in Athens tracing her whereabouts and everything about her until a year ago. He went somewhere out of thin air and I don't know where she is now. Her and Giovanna's data were available on the databases but now it nowhere to be found. I am sorry Aurelio I have failed you but understand that I was forced by your father to go to this extent."

Aurelio was hurt, shocked and most importantly even in all this mess the mention of Xylia and-and their daughter made him so happy but it wasn't the time to be happy. He hadn't smiled in five years and today there was a small smile on his face but immediately it was replaced with a furious expression. He got up and held Alexander by his collar.

"You're telling me this now! Fuck it!Motherfucker, you know I want to kill you and throw your body in the ocean right now but just for the sake that, that you at least fucking told me is why I am sparing your life. When we get to Sicily you do everything you can to find her or else I wouldn't spare your life twice you hear me?" Aurelio said.

As soon as they landed in Sicily, Alexander got to work. And Aurelio was just bewildered and shocked about hearing news about the only love of his love. He was currently in the hotel building more like a goddamn skyscraper. He couldn't ignore the feeling he had in his heart. It had been about five years since he actually felt something.

He took a shower and decided to clear his mind off before he meets the Marconis' and cuts all ties with them.

Instead of driving away in his car he decided to walk. He remembered the times when Xylia and him would go on walks around Athens in the winter holding hand and returning home feeling the sexual tension like they were teenagers. No matter what he did he just could never take Xylia out of his mind. Just as he was walking through the city square he saw a park in which many children were playing. He smiled at the thought of his daughter. It was surreal to believe that he was a father of a daughter.

He wondered how she looked like? Whether she had Xylia's dark brown eyes or his grey ones. Did she have his black curly hair or Xylia's light brown silky waves? How old would she be? He guessed at around five years and he couldn't wait to hold her in his arms. He couldn't wait to love Xylia once more. After all destiny had tested them for way too long.

There he was, the deadliest man in all of Italy smiling at the thought of his daughter and Xylia. That was the effect Xylia had on him.

Instinctively, he walked into the park and sat down at a bench with his hands in his blazer pockets. It was a foggy afternoon and children were playing here and there in the park.

"Xylia,. . . . .Giovanna." he called out the names of this two girls closing his eyes in the cold tears flowing from them in Xylia's vivid and beautiful memory. Five years later and his love never died.

Suddenly he felt a tiny finger poke his knees as he opened his eyes and fixed his posture. He didn't care if the person saw his tears. They didn't matter.

He opened his eyes to see a girl with long curly light brown hair wearing ear muffs and a pink flowery jacket looking exactly like him.

Exactly like him.
