The convoy of military vehicles pulled up
at the Seoul base, engines rumbling as they rolled to a halt. Jungkook stepped out of the lead vehicle, his gaze scanning the base with a cold, unreadable expression. Seoul stretched before him, familiar yet different, layered with memories he'd prefer to keep buried. The base was alive with activity-soldiers marching, drills echoing in the distance, officers barking orders-but his focus was sharp, his posture unbreakable.Mingyu and Aran climbed out of the vehicle behind him, their boots hitting the ground in unison with the rest of the soldiers. The crisp Seoul air carried a bite that mingled with the dust kicked up around them, the reality of their transfer settling in.
Aran adjusted his gear, glancing around at the new surroundings. "Seoul base feels... different. Bigger than I imagined."
Mingyu grinned, stretching his arms with a casual ease. "Yeah, and it's about to feel a lot smaller with us around. Ready to make a few lasting impressions, Captain?"
Jungkook's gaze stayed forward, his jaw set, though a faint smirk flickered across his face. "Impressions don't interest me," he said, his voice low and commanding. "We're here to get things done, not make friends."
Mingyu chuckled, nudging Aran. "Typical Captain. One foot in Seoul and already all business."
Aran gave Mingyu a brief, warning look before turning to Jungkook. "Understood, Captain. We'll stick to the mission."
Jungkook nodded, his tone sharper. "Good. I don't want any distractions. This base has its routines, but we're here to raise the standard. I expect both of you to keep pace."
The soldiers behind them exchanged brief glances, taking in the intensity radiating from Jungkook. It was clear that the Captain's presence commanded respect-and perhaps a hint of apprehension.
A senior officer approached, clipboard in hand, and saluted. "Captain Jeon, Lieutenants, welcome to Seoul base. You're expected at the command center for briefing in fifteen minutes."
Jungkook returned the salute with precision. "We'll be there shortly." He turned to his men, his gaze hard. "Get settled and stay alert. This isn't a vacation; you're expected to operate at full capacity from the minute you set foot here."
The soldiers responded with a crisp, "Yes, sir!" before dispersing to their respective quarters.
As the trio walked toward the command center, Mingyu lowered his voice, glancing sideways at Jungkook. "You good, Captain? You're... tense."
Jungkook's gaze was fixed ahead, his expression as cold as steel. "Just focused.I intend to keep it that way." There was an edge in his voice that even he couldn't fully suppress.
Aran observed him carefully but chose not to press further. "Understood, sir. We're right here if you need us."
As they moved deeper into the base, the surroundings grew busier, soldiers moving with purpose, voices blending in a steady rhythm. The Seoul base was larger and more intense than most others they had known, with an energy that matched the city itself-fast, sharp, and unyielding.
Jungkook's eyes scanned everything, taking in the familiar layouts, the training fields in the distance, and the dormitories that stretched across the compound.
Beside him, Mingyu looked around with open curiosity. "There's definitely a sense of history here," he said, a hint of admiration in his voice. "It's easy to see why this base is one of the most respected."
Aran nodded in agreement, his gaze moving from the training fields to the distant armory. "With its location and resources, it's practically the heart of operations here. Nothing happens in Seoul without this base knowing about it."
