One evening, I was exhausted after a long day of work. I was on my way home, trying to relax in the metro, when Trisha called. Her voice was filled with frustration. She was upset about how little time I was spending with her. I could hear the tension in her voice, and I could feel the weight of the situation bearing down on me.
In that moment, overwhelmed by everything, I snapped. “Trisha, I can’t handle this anymore—the work pressure, and your constant complaints. I’ve tried to explain it to you, but you just don’t get it. Maybe it’s better if we just break up.”
There was silence on the other end of the line. Then, I heard her sob. My heart sank. I immediately regretted what I had said. I tried to call her back, to fix things, but she didn’t pick up. Finally, when she did, we talked things through. I promised her that I would make more of an effort, and everything seemed okay again. But in the back of my mind, I knew this wasn’t the end of our struggles.
