Lena Thompson had been away for the weekend, visiting family out of town. When she returned, she was expecting the same quiet, predictable life she always had. Her parents were away on business, so it was just her and her best friend Jonah to hang out. But when she pulled into her driveway, she noticed something odd.

A black sedan was parked outside the house next door—the house that had been empty for months.

Curiosity piqued, Lena grabbed her backpack from the passenger seat and approached the house. She could see a tall figure through the window, a man who seemed oddly out of place. He had an almost otherworldly elegance to him—dark, messy hair, sharp features, and eyes that glinted with something unnerving.

"New neighbor, I guess?" Lena muttered to herself.

Before she could walk away, the front door opened, and the man stepped outside. He smiled at her, but the smile didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Hello," he said, his voice smooth and deep. "I'm Sebastian. I just moved in."

Lena, a little taken aback, offered a polite smile. "Lena. I live next door."

"Nice to meet you, Lena. I'll see you around."

There was something about his gaze—something predatory, yet magnetic—that sent a shiver down her spine. But she shook it off, chalking it up to first impressions and her wild imagination. After all, he was probably just a new guy looking to settle into a quiet neighborhood.
