As the dawn’s light began to seep through the heavy curtains of the king’s chamber, Tae and Jungkook stood together in the quiet stillness, a newfound understanding settling between them. Their bond, unspoken yet fiercely present, was like a quiet storm, filling the room with a feeling neither could fully express.

The moments following their confession had been filled with tender silence, each man absorbing the reality of what they now shared. But soon, a knock echoed from the chamber doors, snapping them back to the world outside, where duty and expectation awaited.

Jungkook’s eyes flickered toward the door, the lines of duty pulling him into his role as Tae’s protector. “We should prepare. They’ll expect you in the throne room soon.”

Tae gave a slight nod, his gaze lingering on Jungkook, unwilling to let go of the intimacy they’d uncovered. But he also knew Jungkook was right; as Alpha King, he could not ignore the responsibilities waiting just beyond these walls.

With a last touch to Jungkook’s shoulder, Tae spoke softly, “Today will be different, Kook. Because I’m not alone in this.” There was strength in his words, and a glimmer of fierce pride.

Jungkook’s lips quirked into a small, determined smile, his shoulders squaring as he nodded in agreement. “And neither am I. Whatever comes, we face it together.”

The throne room was bustling, courtiers and advisors milling about in anxious anticipation of the king’s arrival. Rumors of discontent had been spreading among the nobility, and tensions were high. Tae’s rule had been one of strength, but the murmurs hinted at those who doubted his vision, his authority—and now, his choice of omega.

But as the grand doors opened and Tae strode in, with Jungkook a half step behind him, the room fell into a reverent silence. Tae’s gaze swept over the gathered officials, his aura commanding respect, and Jungkook’s watchful presence beside him only added to his undeniable strength.

One advisor cleared his throat, stepping forward cautiously. “Your Majesty, there have been... questions raised among the court about your choice of a personal protector.” His eyes flicked toward Jungkook, a hint of disapproval in his gaze.

Tae’s jaw tightened, but he did not waver. Instead, he spoke with the weight of his position and the confidence of a king who had found his match. “Jungkook is my chosen protector and my omega,” he declared, his voice steady and filled with conviction. “He stands beside me not only as my guard but as my equal in this bond. Those who question his place here question me.”

A hushed murmur rippled through the court, but no one dared voice dissent openly. Tae’s strength, bolstered by the presence of his bonded omega, was undeniable.

Jungkook glanced at Tae, admiration and pride reflected in his eyes. For the first time, he truly understood the power they held together—not just as king and bodyguard, but as mates who would face the world side by side.

In that moment, Tae reached out, his hand brushing Jungkook’s, a silent reassurance and a promise. Whatever storms awaited them, they would weather them together.

The court eventually dispersed, and as the hall cleared, Tae and Jungkook lingered alone, the weight of their declaration settling between them.

“We’ve made it known, Jungkook,” Tae said softly, his eyes filled with warmth as he turned to him. “Now there’s no turning back.”

Jungkook nodded, his heart steady. “I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

And with that, they left the throne room together, bound by a love that would defy all odds, determined to face the future, whatever it might bring, as one.
