Chapter 7: How Much is Enough?

After leaving the clockwork machine, the five mares remembered they lost Pinkie. The five mares didn't know how to react to losing their friend that fast. They all had a feeling something horrible would happen to either one of them during their stay. They couldn't say they'd expect Pinkie to be the first one to go due to her hyperactive behavior and lack of sense of her surroundings. They certainly couldn't get the image of Pinkie jumping into the sinkhole out of their heads.

They trundled through an empty corridor, scanning for any other corrosion that decorated the floor or the walls. The empty corridor held two locked doors in the middle of the empty corridor. The two locked doors had a slot for a keycard, presumably storage chambers. One door had two labels reading, 'SCP-427' and 'SCP-714' with the other two labels reading, 'SCP-860' and 'SCP-1025'.

A trail of blood has been led out by the door where SCP-427 and SCP-714 were being held. It must've been left behind by the last person who left the storage chamber during the breach. The trail of blood vanished not far from the storage chamber. The five mares had goosebumps from the trail of blood. They tried not to step in it.

"Sunset Shimmer wouldn't like this place one bit," murmured Twilight.

"I don't think anypony would!" shouted Rainbow Dash.

"I was mentioning the other dimension Sunset Shimmer was in. This place has similarities to the one where she lives."

"How?"

Twilight didn't answer as she was not in the right mood to discuss the human world and its properties.

They decided to open the storage closet containing SCP-860 and SCP-1025. Twilight slid the level 3 keycard into the slot and the locked door opened. Behind the locked door was a small, dimly lit section with three doors and an overhead lamp in the center above that happened to stop working. Two of them were accessible with a keycard slot. Surveillance camera noises could be heard behind both doors. Labels were mounted above the doors with SCP-860 on the left and SCP-1025 on the right.

The storage closet was only small enough for one pony to fit so they decided for Twilight to check it out. She turned to SCP-860's cell on the left and opened the door by inserting the level 3 keycard into the slot. Once the door opened, she found a small closet including a single wooden box with its lid open, sitting on top of a pedestal. A file cabinet sat in the corner beside the unlocked door. She found the surveillance camera mounted on the ceiling of the storage closet.

She slowly stepped forward to see what was in the wooden box. She looked inside to find a small, blue key sitting alone in the wooden box.

"That's it?" she asked out loud.

There was no document informing about the small, blue key; only a single security camera mounted to the ceiling watching over the wooden box sitting atop the pedestal. She glanced at the surveillance camera and then at the blue key sitting in the wooden box. She used her magic to pick up the blue key, making it float in the air in a lavender aura and gently stuffing it into the saddlebag, while standing perfectly still and staring at the surveillance camera. She left the storage closet with an awkward silence and checked out the other storage holding SCP-1025. She slid her Level 3 keycard into the keycard slot and the door opened.

The door opened and found nothing different inside the storage closet. A surveillance camera mounted to the ceiling of the storage closet, a file cabinet sitting in the corner, and a pedestal. The only exception was a hardcover book sitting on top of the pedestal in the room with the title, 'The Encyclopedia of Common Diseases' as the front cover. Knowing what was right, she searched the storage closet for any information on the hardcover book. Similar to SCP-860's containment cell, no document on the hardcover book was found.
