matt stood there, feeling the weight of her words crashing down on him.
the noise of the party was distant, muted by the roar of his own thoughts.
for a split second, he felt the urge to chase after her, to grab her by the arm and make her listen, but something held him back—the anger, the pain, the feeling that maybe she didn't want to be convinced.
across the room, olivia watched the exchange with a smirk playing on her lips. she stepped closer to matt, her expression all too pleased with herself. "trouble in paradise?" she cooed, reaching out as if to touch his arm.
matt jerked away, his eyes blazing with fury. "you need to leave," he snapped. "i don't know what game you're playing, but stay away from me, and stay away from sienna. do you hear me?"
olivia raised an eyebrow, unperturbed by his outburst. "oh, matt. always so serious." she shrugged, turning on her heel with a carefree laugh. "your loss," she called over her shoulder, sauntering off to the bar, clearly pleased with the chaos she'd caused.
matt felt a rush of emotions—rage, guilt, heartbreak. he needed air, space to think.
without another glance around the room, he pushed his way through the crowd, ignoring the whispers and curious stares, heading straight for the exit.
the cold night air hit him like a slap in the face, but it wasn't enough to clear his head.
he pulled out his phone, his thumb hovering over sienna's contact. he hesitated, staring at her name, the memories of their kiss, her laughter, the way she looked at him just moments before it all fell apart.
