"well, well, don't let me interrupt."

sienna froze, her blood running cold as her gaze snapped toward the doorway. matt was leaning casually against the frame, one eyebrow raised, a lopsided smile on his lips.

behind him, chris and nick exchanged wide-eyed looks before quickly mumbling something about seeing themselves out.

"door was unlocked, thought i'd come pay a visit to my girl but i guess not" matt said casually, letting himself in and shutting the door behind him with an audible click.

he gave a nonchalant shrug, like he was commenting on the weather. "so, uh...don't let me stop you. you two can continue if you'd like."

sienna felt her heart break. "matt"

waylon straightened, awkwardly smoothing his cardigan as matt sauntered further into the apartment like he owned it, his hands shoved into his pockets.

his cool indifference felt deliberate, like he'd rehearsed it in his head before stepping inside.

"waylon, huh?" matt said, nodding as though committing his name to memory. "thrift store guy?" he threw a look toward sienna, a teasing glint in his eyes. "so, this is what collabs look like these days? interesting."

waylon cleared his throat. "uh...hi. nice to meet you."

matt's gaze landed briefly on him, then flicked back to sienna. "oh, we're acquainted now. thanks for the introduction." he turned toward the living room, his tone dry but edged with playful irony.

matt continued. "don't let me get in the way, though. i'll just make myself comfortable."

he plopped onto the couch, sprawling out like he belonged there. then, with perfect timing, his gaze caught on the television. "gravity falls?" he asked, the corner of his mouth twitching upward in a knowing smirk.
